Gut Rumbles

June 15, 2005

just a thought

If you have a new blog or on unheard of blog that you believe is worthy of attention, mail me link to it. I'll read it and pick out five good blogs to link and discuss every week. Of course, if I think your blog sucks, I might just say that about it, too. Call it constructive criticism.

I simply want to return a favor that was done by several people who did it for me when I got started. You never can tell. I might help make you a star.

I'm willing to do it if you're willing to send the links. If you're interested, just email them to me. I'll give you MY humble opinion of what I see.

Bejus. Now you are a starmaker? Might want to dust off the ole spellcheck button there starmaker. Just a suggestion.

"You never can tell. I might help make you a star"
Last time a guy said that to me he also asked me if I'd care to join him at his hotel to talk about it...

It was a very nice hotel.

Misty: I just spit my coffee out...too funny!

Posted by: Ruth on June 15, 2005 07:20 AM

I figured you'd be that kind. Writing a blog is scarry, just getting my feet wet...I hope the offer remains open a few years down the road.

Posted by: Bonita on June 15, 2005 08:18 AM

I'm not a good judge of my blog...I find everything I write is boring and monotonous. I agree with Bonita though...putting yourself out there IS scary for some of us. I accept the fact that I have warts and cracks...I'm just not sure I want to subject the rest of the world to them. I have been making more of an effort lately...your post last week about putting the spin on something otherwise mundane was pure genius and very inspirational.

Why even respond if you're going to be snotty or point out mistakes? Did you not just read the blog about the "cracked pot"? Everything is "timing", and reading that was perfect timing for me. Hmmm.... better check my spelling before sending ....

as much as I'd love the attention, your humble opinion kinda scares me sometimes, Rob. ;-)

That msg was for PJ (above) btw.

Posted by: Tams on June 15, 2005 09:51 AM

That Misty is something else.

Here's one that's been showing up in my referral stats: Cadillac Tight.

Posted by: McGehee on June 15, 2005 10:27 AM

Oops.I shoulda checked your blogroll first. Sorry.

Posted by: McGehee on June 15, 2005 10:28 AM

Hell, Rob, why not. Every time you link to me it's worth 500 hits, and at this stage of my blog career, I am a hit-whore.

Yeah, I can take criticism.

Posted by: Pawpaw on June 15, 2005 10:30 AM

I'm suprised you're not linked to WUZZADEM. One of the funniest sites around. Check it out.

Posted by: Mark on June 15, 2005 11:23 AM is not only the best blog out, it takes blogging to a new level as I now do my posts in audio form. Each talk show lasts about an hour.

Posted by: MrNoGood on June 15, 2005 11:42 AM

You should also go to here, too. I'm hosting the New Blogger Showcase this week, and you can submit entries there.

Hey don't pick on the guy being honest, he made me the "star" I am today! LMAO

Posted by: livey on June 15, 2005 12:58 PM

I'll second those sentiments Catfish. She got me good! And Rob too!

Posted by: Ed on June 15, 2005 02:12 PM

Ah, what the hell. My blog probably sucks, but you're welcome to look at it. here ya go

Misty: ROFL! That was a good one.

Posted by: Alli on June 15, 2005 02:20 PM

I emailed this one to ya a while back, but it looked as if he was going to stop blogging. He didn't, and I absolutely love his blog (but not as much as yours *wink-wink*).

Peoples needs to lurn how to spell around here! I'm a fruit loop troll!

Posted by: PJ on June 15, 2005 05:07 PM

I enjoy Abraham's blog at Three Score and Ten.

Scroll down a few days and read the chicken's feet story.

Posted by: TL on June 15, 2005 08:19 PM

I'd never be able to run a blog, at least not one where my audience demanded that I update five times or more a day. I'd be more like that guy Rube from YouBitch, once to three times a week, and maintain a visible fanbase within the single digits.

And PJ, if you think some of US spell bad, try looking on your average video-game forum and behold the marvelous failure of the West's educational systems to teach kids anything related to grammar. Also, the amount of vulgarity and bile the people on those forums tend to fling at one another is enough to make arguing Democrats and Republicans look like best friends. They've apparently descended into techno-barbarism.

If only internet instructions were written in plain english I might be able to master the arcane art of linking and could link to my site as named.. Why isn't internet language intelligible?
