quote of the day

I'm not gonna link to this blog, because it's a pisshole. But here's what it had to say about me:

This is the "I've got mine, the hell with you" attitude that so marks the Capitalist system, and embodied in it's most virulent form in the subspecies of Amerikan know as the redneck. As a rule they don't possess much, but they seem to be hyper possesive with what they do have, without a care for the suffering of their neighbors and the poor that have even less. He wouldn't have that money without the effort of those that he excoriates, I'm sure he did nothing of value to "earn" it, he merely oversaw the real producers of value and skimmed the cream off the top, leaving the dregs for the underlings to fight over.

Are leftists losers? I rest my case.

sounds like a typical non achiever too me!

Typical redneck response when faced with the truth.
"acidman" doesn't even dare to let his readers judge for themselves, because he knows that the truth would show him to be
the redneck racist Xtian he is.

Damn. I took a few minutes to follow up on the fellow who posted that BS you quoted there. Interesting site there.

It's not often ones sees the face of true communist believers so clearly.
Nothing has killed more people and caused more misery in the last 100 years than Communism.

But Hey, they're all young. There's hope yet. But I wouldn't bet my lunch money on it at this point. Goofy Bastards

Isn't it funny how it's always the "progressives" and the nuts who claim to be for "the people" who never seem to care enough about other people to, you know, find out a little about them? Five minutes of research into Gut Rumbles would have disproved at least three of that pissant's "points."

But Acidman's not a real person, he's a redneck, so obviously he's not deserving of that kind of time commitment.

If you are on a quest for adoration from people who don't know you.....liberals and leftists probably aren't your target audience.

Posted by: robert on September 30, 2005 09:38 AM

This guy doesn't sound like a mere leftist. He sounds like a Stalinist asshole.

"What is the sound of one asshole farting?"

Posted by: Elisson on September 30, 2005 10:17 AM

When are these idiots going to learn that America works by the "I made mine, you make yours" school of thinking. Not the "I made mine, let me give it to you" B.S. they wish it was.

I'm not rich, I scratch to pay my bills every month. But I sure as hell don't expect anything to be given to me.

Lazy b@stards.

P.S. I am for helping truly needy folks, but NOT the "GIMMEE" tribe of dumbass' I see getting more common everyday.

Posted by: RickR on September 30, 2005 10:18 AM

the coxswain on the boat isn't strong enough to pull an oar. without him, the oars don't move in unison and the boat does not follow the course. tell me again how coordination isn't valuable!

Posted by: dsloan.houston on September 30, 2005 11:03 AM

Sounds like he's a tool, just not a capitalistic tool...

Posted by: Rich on September 30, 2005 11:41 AM

What do you want to bet that if any of the 'underlings' worked and gathered enough of the 'dregs' to do well, this idiot would then call THEM another redneck who doesn't care about others?

Posted by: Mark on September 30, 2005 11:48 AM

Spoken like a true 20-something living in their mother's basement.

"Look at me! I have no marketable skills and the initiative of a sloth! And it's all the fault of people who actually did something with their lives!"

Perpetual victimhood truly doesn't discriminate.

Sometimes you folks just astound me. I'm not defending this guy's post. It's ill-informed and Steve G is right. He didn't bother to read enough of this blog before he shot his mouth off, but I don't see how you're any better than he is when in response, you immediately lump all progressives into some preconceived loser category. How's that any different from him lumping all rednecks into stupid and bigoted?
What's so hard about treating each other as individuals who all have some good in them, even if they don't agree with every bloody thing you say?

Posted by: Libby on September 30, 2005 04:19 PM

Funny, wasn't it "rednecks" with boats coming to the rescue of hurricane victims?

And, riddle me this, oh "Amerikan hater" - we have two large hurricanes hit the gulf coast region and which group spent all their money staging a big rally to protest a war in D.C.?

Yeah, the conservatives and capitalists are an evil bunch. We care enough to open our wallets and give to those in need. We find people with planes and boats and spare rooms to shelter our neighbors when times are bad.

Rob, I'm glad you didn't link the site because I'd have had much more to say. And it wouldn't have been very nice.

Posted by: Da Goddess on September 30, 2005 05:06 PM

Coordination is valuable, as dsloan says. The just means of coordination is voluntary cooperation; the unjust is involuntary collectivism.

Yeah, the conservatives and capitalists are an evil bunch. We care enough to open our wallets and give to those in need. We find people with planes and boats and spare rooms to shelter our neighbors when times are bad. You know what? So did the liberals, so did the progressives, so did the Democrats, so did the Greens, so did the atheists, so did the Christian left and probably the Libertarians did too.

DaGoddess I've had you on my blogroll for probably two years now because I love your photos and your honesty but I have to say I'm surprised and disappointed that you would say that.

This is what I'm talking about in my last comment. You want to be pissed off about some kid's confused post then direct your anger at him where it belongs. Don't make it about liberals against conservatives because it's not.

Here's the link. Knock yourself out. Tell the kid he was jerk - he was. Using Rob as an analogy was lazy and doesn't apply but there are people in this world who those words do apply to and it's got nothing to do with their political affiliation.

Sorry he missed my post of last Sunday so he could get a clue what a true redneck is!!

Posted by: Indigo on September 30, 2005 10:49 PM

Oh for Chrissakes. Frank, it's lazy lefties like you that give progressives a bad name. While I agree with you about Bush and the rest of the liars and white collar thieves he hangs out with, starting a comment with the phrase, "you self-righteous, hillbilly, dumbshit Republicans" is an infantile response and doesn't do shit to solve the neo-con problem.

For one thing, if you bothered to read more than one post you would see that they're mostly not even Repubs here, they're Libertarians, they're not dumb and they're no more self-righteous than you sound.

You want a school yard fight, go back to grade school. If you want to try to save this country, then grow up and start addressing the issues in a civilized manner without a bunch of generalized juvenile name-calling.

Jeez you play into Bush's plan when you make the debate about people instead of policy. The neo-cons got us fighting with each other against our own interests, while they're laughing all the way to the bank with all our money.

*This is the "I've got mine, the hell with you" attitude that so marks the Capitalist system . . .*

Hey, it's better than the "Nobody's got anything, to hell with everybody!" attitude that so marks the alternatives to the Capitalist system.

Oh, and as far as the charitable giving thing goes, Best of the Web did a pretty adequate analysis of the relationship between state-by-state charity and red/blue voting patterns. I'll give you three guesses at who is more generous (hint: it's not the blue states).

The beauty part is that Karloff misspelled the link to his own blog. BWAHAHAHAHA

No surprise there, eh?

Posted by: StinKerr on October 1, 2005 11:01 PM

Big government leftists have no business calling anyone else a thief.

I think Karloff left his own website in a huff, or maybe a minute and a huff....8-)

I gave him some rational disagreements with his characterization of Rob, and a little education about 'the system' and he never responded. I didn't insult him in any way and I think the grey goo between his ears exploded. (I didn't say brains, because any 20-something whose favorite book is Das Kapital doesn't have any....)
