Gut Rumbles

Local government totally fucked up the disaster in New Orleans. So how do they respond NOW, way too late? They want to confiscate guns, of course.

Bejus. Who's giving them such orders? Hillary Clinton?

I'll be totally honest with you here. In THAT situation, I'll give up my guns when some uniformed government thug pries them from my cold, dead hands. Besides, if the government thinks it's going to disarm the entire state of Louisiana, it's out of its collective mind.

This is stupid policy.

Note the "including legally registered firearms". Registration leading to confiscation, yet again. It seems the transition from citizens to subjects is just about complete in what is left of a once-free country.

"This is stupid policy."
No, this is Democrat and/or leftist and/or liberal policy.
Oh, I see, all synonyms for stupid. My bad.

Its amazing that the media made a big deal of all the looting in Bahgdad after it was captured, yet they are reluctant to mention the looting, rapes, and mayhem in New Orleans. There are reports that one policeman killed himself after returning home from long hours of trying to keep order only to find out that his wife and daughter were raped and killed. I wonder if CNN will try to track that rumor down?

More stupid policy from a stupid administration that will not disarm the criminals in a stupid city.

This is the United States. New Orleans and the State failed to protect the people. Now, they are taking the only means the people have left to protect themselves. Watch and see if the criminal element turns in their guns. If you think they will, I have some land near the 17th Street canal for sale.

>But that order apparently does not apply to hundreds of security guards hired by businesses and some wealthy individuals to protect property. The guards, employees of private security companies like Blackwater, openly carry M-16's and other assault rifles. Mr. Compass said that he was aware of the private guards, but that the police had no plans to make them give up their weapons.<

Looks like old Chief Compass might be stupid, but he sure ain't crazy! I'd love to see his police try to take the weapons from those "paid security guards". There would be a lot fewer of them on paid vacations in Vegas.

From all I could gather, this is an NOPD initiative...I don't think you'll find NG or active-duty trying to do that. You'll notice that NG and active-duty refuse to forcibly remove people from their homes. Evidently the 5th Amendment still means something.

There is going to be some shit hitting some fans when this starts winding down.

But some of the Guard were helping the bastards seize firearms from people.

Dammit, one of the jerks was even from an OK Guard unit. I wouldn't have believed it.

This is scarier than the gotdamn Hurricane. I have a few registered firearms.....and a buttload that ain't.

A registered firearm?!? If where I lived mandated registration of firearms, I would either: 1. Move, or if circumstances didn't allow for that, 2. Break the law. If where I lived denied me a concealed carry permit, even though I have no criminal record whatsoever, I would do the same. The second amendment to the Constitution is very easy to understand, as is the tenth. For any trolls here, the second guarantees the right to keep AND bear arms to citizens, period. You can go on all you like about the verbage about a ' militia', but if you are honest, the intent of the founders is very clear. The tenth amendment clearly prohibits states or local authorities from making laws that are contrary to the rights set forth in our founding document. Period. End of story.

To further Robs quote, I will give up my guns, round by round. If some asshole cop shows up at MY door, with the intent of hancuffing me while he removes my firearms without probable cause or a signed warrant, he better pack a lunch, cause he's gonna need it.

I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. I would rather die on my feet, than live on my knees. Statist assholes. Come and get them.

Amen, Anthony L. I live in Arizona, and we don't even register hand guns here. Period. I make & reload my own AP in .44 Rem Mag. It goes thru body armor like a hot knife through butter. A clip of those in my Desert Eagle is a formidible weapon. Yeah, come and get mine, assholes! I've always wanted to have some moving targets to shoot at, other than the NVA in Vietnam. There are enough of us in this country that they don't have enough folks to even begin to confiscate them, based upon projected loses during the act of confiscation, and they know it.
