why wasn't it reported?

Here's a little tidbit I found at overlawyered today.

Oh! Something that's not made national news, as far as I've seen: at least 6 looters have been shot in St. Tammany parish (where I live), according to the deputies, and their orders are to shoot to kill. St. Tammany has the highest per-capita income of the state. It's home to doctors, lawyers, engineers, and scientists. But it's still a bit wild, apparently.

Shit like this is the reason I don't own a house full of guns. You let some thug try to take what's mine and he'd better be able to shoot me before I shoot him; otherwise, he's a dead motherfucker because I WILL shoot to kill.

I'll take my chances in that contest.

Those looting rats should be shot down like the vermin they are. The news media should REPORT the killings, too, to discourage more of the same venal behavior.

But that might be "racist," and we all know how that card works today.

I live in St. Tammany. The people, police, and juducial system absolutely does not put up with criminals.

I sat on a jury where a criminal's lawyer copped a plea of "Agrrivated armed robbery in the first degree!" This loser was also covered by the three-strikes law because of his chosen vocation. The judge gave him the max of 57 years in Angola (worse than gitmo) Prison.

Shoot to kill does not surprise me. I will try to find if this story is accurate.

Oh, and great job pulling "venal" out of your hat. Sent a few scurrying for their Funk & Wagnalls, I bet! ;-P

Hello Rob: I've been a faithful reader for about two years. Sometimes your writing is awesome, but it is always interesting. Just got divorced after 20 yrs. Like you, I am plenty bitter, but, because I got a video of her going to a cheap motel w/the OM I got the house and kids. She has to pay child support. It is so funny I might die laughing. But seriously, she is not a BC, but most certainly is a C. I don't care if I ever get any again. I think I hate the stuff..
Cordially venting, your pal, Pensat

I agree with Chablis. No survivors. They just come back to sue you and they usually win because of their race. I catch anyone on my property that even looks like they are going to take something that is mine and I will give them 2 or 3 pieces of 300grain copper jacketed lead with a nice hollow point in it.

"Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six." I live in Lake Charles, Louisiana and according to the police, we have not had any new crimes reported. But I went to purchase some more pistol ammo the other day, and the line to get ammo and guns were long. Seems you can not get a pistol or a locking gas cap in Lake Charles or Sulphur. Sold out of both in a lot of places. Later.

I was there Sunday. Lots of big pine trees down but I doubt there's much crime. There was a grocery store open in Covington that was giving each customer 2 bags of ice.

A lot of nice people but they don't tolerate a thief.
