blame the gun

Well, it's California, so what do you expect? Read this and puke.

It's NOT a "community tragedy." It's a case of a dumbfuck doing something really stupid, and I hope his ass fries for it.

Friends and family speculated that Hollis might have been attempting to frighten the men and accidentally shot his friend.

Yeah. That's the gun's fault.

I just moved my son to Berzerkely....He wants to work for Pixar, very close in Emeryville.

"decided to display the fragility of existence."

This kind of shit 1.) makes me want to puke, and 2.) makes me want to clean out the butt-nuggets that have befouled my state.

How can so MANY people be SO disconnected from reality?

Posted by: Wes Jackson on July 24, 2005 12:13 PM

Mr. Jackson, the answer to your profoundly stupid question, is another question. Whose Reality?

This is a PERFECT example of the wisdom of gun control. No gun, no dead girl.

Posted by: Rachel on July 24, 2005 12:35 PM

Yeah gun control. Learn to hit what you aim for, instead of your friends.

"This is the perfect example of the wisdom of gun control. No gun, no dead girl."

Yeah, I read the other day that some knife control advocates are tring to limit the sale of long knives with points. Seems as if they are blaming the knives for some deaths. How about if instead of blaming the gun you blame the one who used it. If he had bashed in her head with a club would you be wanting to ban clubs?

GUYK says, :How about if instead of blaming the gun you blame the one who used it."

Last time I checked, no gun ever was arrested or jailed for a gun crime. Doofus!

If club crimes became as pervasive as gun crimes, laws against carrying clubs might be wise.

Let's see first if gun crime can be reduced by limiting access to guns.

"last time I checked, no gun was ever arrested or jailed for a gun crime. Doofus!"

Could be that no gun has been jailed because no gun can commit a crime. A gun is a tool and when it is misused a crime can be commited by the user. The hero of the left, Ted Kennedy, murdered a girl with an automobile. Do you want to ban automobiles? More people are killed on the highway each year in vehicle accidents than are killed by handguns. Why not use your logic and ban motorized vehicles?

Posted by: GUYK on July 24, 2005 01:29 PM

Rachel: We can't tackle the issue that way. Otherwise we'd have to get rid of cars... planes... sushi knives... pencils... anything that can lead to an accident.

It's actually the mind that controls what the hand does. I say more responsibility, and blame the cause of the problem, which isn't the trigger. JMO ...

Give Rachel a break. Like, no gun, no crime. It would totally be different if they, like, made guns not like the one Jamie Lee Curtis dropped down the stairs in _True Lies_. Maybe if they had something to keep a dude from accidentally depressing the trigger of a loaded and unsafed pistol while waving it around.

Besides, it's not like there was violent crime before gun manufacturers.

Why to the left wing loons always blame an inanimate object instead of the person with the brain that really screwed up? It's never the humans fault. I guess that is what they have been taught in the failed school system, never accept responsibility for anything you can blame on someone/something else.

Posted by: scrapiron on July 24, 2005 03:16 PM

Please, if guns kill people I can blame misspelled words on my pencil.

Guns are tools, and un arming the lawabiding public is the stupidest idea ever. Gun control doesn't work, how many gun crimes are in NYC or DC or Chicago? Compare it to Indianapolis, less than 4 per 10000 murders with guns. It aint Sarah Brady that makes the crime rate that low.

Right, but the shooter was black. So he should automatically walk.

They have a hard time in America so they can't be blame for this kind of thing.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense, an idiot pulls up to a curb and starts firing at random to scare people off? And he murders his friend by accident.

And people turn out en masse to SUPPORT THE MURDERER??? Hello! He KILLED her!

He's the idiot who whipped out a gun AND STARTED SHOOTING AT STRANGERS???

And they stand in support of this fucking idiot???

Christ, I hate Berkeley. Flush the whole shitty P.C. town down the toilet. Morons. A psychopath starts shooting at group of strangers, murders an innocent woman and now he gets sympathy for it.

Alright everybody, let's play the new game show making the rounds in the People Republic of California and really popular with the Rev, Jesse Jackson.................(Audience shouts with MC)...LET'S NOT BE RESPONSIBLE.........(MC)...Alright folks, you know how this do something totally asinine, stupid and most definitely against the law such as....robbing a convenience store........commiting a sex crime with a minor..or the big one MURDER...your job then is to blame.....the gun in your hands, not the hand that pulled the trigger........the bitch who dissed you....Da Man for keeping you get it blame everyone and everything for your actions but yourself.
You know I am beginning to wonder about our society when's it's so easy to blame everyone and everything else for what we do to ourselves.

Mr Jackson says;

"Whose Reality?" Did you really mean to write that? Are you that painfully stupid?
One man's terrorist is anouther man's freedom fighter?
Why don't you put down the stupid pills, get on a pair of glasses and read Mr. Jacef and Mr Dean above? I pray you are not at this moment in my state of Ca. If I could find you anywhere in Ca. I would gladly kick your dumb ass up around your ears.

Perhaps you could enlighten us all as to why Florida's crime rate fell through the floor when the allowed citizens to carry?

You are so damn dumb you make my toenails hurt.

Please tell me you live in France.

Funny how they mentioned she was black in the first line (does that make the story any different?), and skipped covering this from the side of the shooter, completely. Then they went on to make this a huge sob story. "A gun-toting man." Maybe this is accurate, but it sure reads like it should be an editorial. Was discharging a firearm justified? Probably not, but that's not covered in the story. Did the guy mess up? Definitely. Should he be held accountable? Definitely. Should you, the gun-fearing leftie, not own a gun because of this and other reasons? I'd love to say "yes," so your defenseless self is beaten and robbed instead of me, but I have to honestly say "no," because you deserve the common sense to defend yourself just as much as I do. Note the words "common sense." You don't deserve a gun, but the right to think logically. Maybe pepper spray works in your case--it sure would have worked better here.

Can't ANYONE Just call it like it is?

Berkeley is a dangerous place because of BLACK TEENAGERS, who are coddled by WHITE LIBERALS.
