quote of the day

About bottled water:

And in North Richland Hills, Texas, the tap water was so vile, I could barely shower in it. Smelled like bug poison. Hell, it was so skank-nasty, I hated to shit in it for fear of offending the shit.

That's from ellison, who makes me jealous because I DIDN'T come up with that line. Pretty good, bro.

The worst-tasting (and worst smelling) water I've ever encountered was in Fort Myers, Florida. Bejus! If you turned on the shower, it was like cranking up a paper mill in that beach house. Stunk like rotten eggs and tasted like shit in ANYTHING you used it in.

I bought bottled water when I spent a week there.

We have to buy water here at our place for that very reason. Our well was good until they started building new houses all around us! A 60' well was sufficient; now it looks like we will have to drill another,,,,just damn!

When we lived in the Tampa area we bought drinking water because the Tampa water tasted like the Tampa sewers smell. I bought a place about 75 miles north on the coast and had a well drilled. Good sweet limestone water at 60 feet and had the well put down to a hundred. Municipal tap water usually tastes to me like a public swimming pool smells and figure that some little boy has pissed in it.

You know, that was a pretty hurtful thing you said about drinking water. Unionized Water Treatment Plant Workers (UWTPW) spend their working days making sure your drinking water is safe and pleasant to drink. I think you owe them an apology.

now THAT is funny......

To the UWTPW : Your drinking water is similar to union thought-smells bad

You seem to have quite the love/hate relationship with bottled water.

By God, we have some purty good drinking water here in Tulsa. I still prefer a good beer. Good breakfast...murry

I agree with Murry. There's plenty of water in beer.
Oh, and coffee.

Must not have hung around Clearwater, FL in the old days. High sulpher/iron content in the water stained sinks and smelled like rotten eggs

The worst water I ever tasted was in Valletta, Malta. 2nd worst was Galveston, TX.

Back when I was in school, I had a summer job with a survey crew, and we traveled all over Hillsborough County, Florida. We often ate lunch at the Coffee Cup, in Ruskin. (It's gone now.) Great hamburgers, and pie to die for, but the iced tea was made with the most godawful sulphur water in the world. You couldn't put enough sugar in it to cover the taste.
