do as I say...

... not as i do. You've just gotta love PETA for its consistency.

Local officials and veterinarians said they were told that PETA would find homes for the animals, not euthanize them. PETA has scheduled a news conference for Friday afternoon to discuss the charges.

Police charged Andrew Benjamin Cook, 24, of Virginia Beach, and Adria Joy Hinkle, 27, of Norfolk, each with 31 felony counts of animal cruelty and eight misdemeanor counts of illegal disposal of dead animals. They were released on bond and an initial court date was set for Friday in Winton.

These are the same people who profess to believe that rats have "rights." Buncha flapping moonbats.

Although I do not believe in cruelty to animals I certainly don't agree with PETA. We have a difference in opinion in what constitutes cruelty. I believe that if a fish gets on my hook and can get off before I either release it or get it in the frying pan then I have given the fish ethical treatment. The same way with a rabbit if it can outrun my shotgun.

what worries me is "How did these animals die?"

Supposedly PETA believes in euthanization by lethal injection. But the drugs used for this kind of injection are a controlled substance (for obvious reasons). Neither one of these PETA people are veterinarians - so, either they were using a substance illegally or the animals died some grosser way.

Yep. That's no doubt the reason that they were arrested for cruelty to animals. I have no use for anyone who is cruel to animals because I figure that anyone who would mistreat a dumb animal would also mistreat a dumb human. (Smart humans are not mistreated often-they have a tendacy to bite back) I posted on another blog about these two, recommending that if found guilty they should be impaled on a dull hoe handle. Please don't ask, "what's a hoe?"

What if they were cats?

I don't know what everyone is so worked up about, the animals didn't suffer - they were euthanized! They are better off dead than living a life of slavery.
Petownership is slaverey.

60 Minutes did a story one time on SPCA being all too hasty to seize animals they believe were being mistreated. The problem comes from their willingness to declare mistreatment without taking time to consider whether their facts were valid.
One owner got his horses back because SPCA seized without a warrant. Oops!

Theresa, I know. I've been telling that to the poodle that owns me and trained be to do its every bidding. It is cruel when she wakes me in the middle of the night and demands that she take me for a walk. She has these other cruel streaks such as demanding that I let her use my lap for a nap or demanding that I stoke her belly when she feels bad-and sometimes when she just wants me to do it. But, actually I enjoy being the slave to this mistress. She is mostly nice to me and so far has never bitten me.

Theresa, your argument is as illogical as it is unethical. Since when does abolishing slavery mean killing slaves?
