silly boy

I've been offered $600 a month to run some "sub-domain" ads on my blog. I have no idea what a "sub-domain" is, but what this guy is offering looks a lot like spam-shit to me. I turned him down.

The idea of being paid for doing exactly what I already do for free is nice, but I have certain standards I seek to maintain on my humble blog. I enjoy my Artistic Control, if you can call what I do "artistic." I'm a silly boy. I've never done anything in my life just for money.

YOU can take that kind of deal if you want to. I wouldn't blame you for doing it. I get enough traffic to make "sub-domains," blog-ads or some Acidman merchandise sales profitable, but I don't care to go there. I prefer to hand out free ice cream.

I've been doing it that way for a long time and that's what intend to keep doing.

I'm not entirely sure what a 'subdomain ad' is, but a subdomain would be allowing other sites to be hosted under www.gutrumbles.com . It would look like http://somename.gutrumbles.com . The $600 a month sounds like a great big pile of bullshit to me though.

You coming to the 35 class reunion Friday and Saturday?

Ken, I already told you that I don't intend to go to the reunion. I don't have anything in common with those people anymore.

Subdomain ads are using whatever.yourdomain.com to serve up spam, or link collections (more spam). The reason they're done is that it's an easy way to feed off search engine placements, among other things.

some of the blogs that I vist must be installing spy junk on me. My spy killer takes care of about twenty a day. Before I got the spy killer I found Ihad over 200 spies in my system. No wonder the piece of junk was so slow.

Some prominent blogs got banished from Google for that, eliminating the value of that $300 or $500 a month, and eliminating the revenue since when Google struck, the link farmers fled.

Saying no is a good move.

Wow, I commend you on standing on integrity and turning down the ad's. I would do the same thing. I do think Acidman T-shirts would be a great idea, hell, I know I'd buy one.
