a salute

I've blogged before about buying drinks or picking up restaurant tabs for troops I see in the airport as they head for Iraq. I admire what these young folks do, and I've never met a finer bunch of people in my life.

But it's not all about war. Read that story and THEN repeat the leftist cant about what a bunch of torturing, bloodthirsty troops we have in our armed forces.

After that, you can kiss my Cracker ass. Who would YOU rather have on the scene in a situation like that? A trained Marine or Bill Maher?

Comments

When I go up the escalator at Atlanta Hartsfield to the baggage claim area, I always see volunteers from the USO at the top, waiting for our men and women in uniform, to give them a cheer and a "welcome back". That is so cool.

I'd rather have an UNTRAINED Marine on the scene rather than Bill Maher.

I could count on knowing that the Marine gave a damn about something other than his own well-being and he'd be more likely to give a damn about ME than Maher.

"Nawww... That can't be! All my buds down at (instert name of well-known university here) said that the Minutemen of Zarqawi were heroic and valiantly defend civilians from the Evil American Imperialist Invaders, who skin them alive and rape their children! Zeig Heil Michael Moore!"

I remember reading on the 'net a while back that several of the marines who were in the November assault on Fallujah managed to diffuse 3(?) bombs that had been wired to a children's school/center by the scumbags (oops! I mean insurgents). Why the scumbags wanted to blow up a children's center, I don't know. Maybe they figured that after a few of them escaped and the bombs went off, they could make a false report to some jerk in Al-Jazeera that the US had intentionally blown it up.

God bless the USMC, is all I can say.
