July 01, 2004how odd...Yesterday, my Site Meter just disappeared from my page. It was there one minute and gone the next. I saw it missing and thought, "WTF?" I tried to figure out what I might have done to cause it, but I hadn't messed with any of the guts on my blog. I just posted a few things and went off to surf other sites. I like my Site Meter. I use it to read a lot of blogs that I wouldn't know about if I didn't find them on my referral list. I wondered where the hell my meter went and what caused it to go away. I never did discover what happened. I just turned off the computer and went to bed last night. Hell, I knew that I could install another Site Meter if I had to. But this morning, everything was back to normal. Except for one thing. I had about a 12-hour gap where no hits or visitors were recorded. Site Meter came back by itself, but I still don't know where it went and what it did while it was gone. If Site Meter were my teenage daughter, I'd ground the living shit out of her until I got a very contrite explanation of that AWOL episode. But what do I know about computers?

Posted by: Eric on July 1, 2004 05:01 PMI saw your site meter with a 14 year old boy in the back seat of a car. Felt sorry for the blog she was running around on. Posted by: nostradumbass on July 1, 2004 06:44 PMI saw your site meter in Costa Rica. We came back on the same flight. Some kinda site meter convention. Who knew?! Posted by: Rumbear on July 1, 2004 09:03 PMSite Meter fucked me out of about 4000 hits two months ago. Posted by: Denny on July 1, 2004 10:55 PMJust to let you know, Sitemeter has a track record of being VERY unpredictable. Since I own a hosting company, I use the available scripts on installed on the box for tracking everything I ever wanted to know about anyone visiting the site. If you are interested in learning more, let me know. Posted by: Websch01ar on July 2, 2004 08:55 AMNine months from now your Sitemeter is going to have a litter of illegitimate little meters that will have to be supported by our tax dollars.
