Gut Rumbles

oh, so sensitive

I've said it before, but it's worth repeating: I met more absolute dumbasses in graduate school at the University of Georgia than anywhere else I've ever been, and that includes Florida, where people drive like total fucktards. I don't think UGA was unique, either. I believe that a LOT of people, all over the country, are educated to a degree without ever learning to pour piss out of a boot.

this shit is what passes for thinking in college today. Bejus!

The University of Washington's student senate rejected a memorial for alumnus Gregory "Pappy" Boyington of "Black Sheep Squadron" fame amid concerns a military hero who shot down enemy planes was not the right kind of person to represent the school.

I shudder to think what their idea of the "right kind of person" might be. Hillary Clinton? Tookie Williams? Jane Fonda?

Student senator Jill Edwards, according to minutes of the student government's meeting last week, said she "didn't believe a member of the Marine Corps was an example of the sort of person UW wanted to produce."

Jill, the University of Washington should hang its head in shame for producing YOU, you pitiful, misguided shitwit.

Ashley Miller, another senator, argued "many monuments at UW already commemorate rich white men."

Uh... Ashley, Colonel Boyington was not rich and he was part Sioux Indian. I suppose you don't have to study much history for a degree in Ignorant Feminist PMS, do you?

Senate member Karl Smith amended the resolution to eliminate a clause that said Boyington "was credited with destroying 26 enemy aircraft, tying the record for most aircraft destroyed by a pilot in American Uniform," for which he was awarded the Navy Cross.

Smith, according to the minutes, said "the resolution should commend Colonel Boyington's service, not his killing of others."

Right. War is unhealthy for children and other living things. Don't want no white-man Marine baby-killer 'round here. Let's all hold hands and sing Kumbahya. The Spirit of the 60s lives on at UW.

as a marine -yes i am bias what kind of douchbags are they in that school,if it hadnt been for him and other people in WW2 we would be speeking german or jap, fuck all you stupid pricks j

This was on another blog yesterday and I'll repeat my stuff. It's my alma mater. The frickin' lumberjack idiot mentality.

I wonder if they would stand by and stare as somebody knifed their spouse, or killed their kids, because one should be gentle and nonviolent.
Sins of omission translate to murder if you don't do what you're supposed to.

I moved to Texas eventually, so don't holler at me.

Bless The Beasts And The Children. In this case, both terms apply to these frigging trustafarians. I bet they sue the school next year for bigger dorms to store their papier mache heads of Bush and Rumsfeld.

I fancy myself as being a well educated and knowledgeable individual.

I'm also a "knuckle dragging, shotgun toting, tobacco chewing" kind of guy.

The latter is better at the former and the former can never do what the latter can. Go figure.

Ninety percent of the major colleges are in the same shape. The parents pay hundreds of thousands of dollars and the students leave there with a piece of paper and a fifth grade education at best.
The facts of History mean nothing to them since they have been brainwashed by the left wing liberal (aka communist) professors (who are as a whole, cowards) who also don't have the brains to pour piss out of a boot with the instructions printed on the heel. They think it's cool, but they will change their mind when they find that the type government they think they want will execute every one of them within months.
Haven't you noticed that most of the advances in all of the sciences are from people that are now in their 50-60's. The new college educated fools will let the country fall apart faster than a roll of toilet paper in a rain storm. I don't know how they can figure the U.S. will continue to lead the world in anything except servants for a foreign powers.
Most of the current graduates learn what they need to know for the job they're qualified for as soon as they leave college 'Would you like fries with that'?
Makes me happy to be over 65 so I can laugh at the fools. Won't support fixing the SS system which will fail in the next ten years nor the medicare system that is doomed not long after. The most stupid group of people to ever inhabit the earth is the left wing democrats of today. They are sacrficing their own children's future to satisfy their own ego's and what they thing is political advantage...Maybe that's why the want to abort all of their children, they know the country will end up as a slave nation under control of some rabid fools like the Islamic nuts of the middle east.

Here is a link to an article about Boyington. His face in the photo looks much more native American than Caucasian.

He was a talented collegiate wrestler, a fraternity man, and an aeronautical engineer.

He was also a hard-drinking womanizer and he was one hell of a survivor.

Obviously they didn't know about the TV show. If they had known he had a TV show made about him they would have put up TWO statues.

(grew up in a town that had a statue of Rocky Balboa but none of Joe Frazier)

Ms. Jill Campbell is obviously a liberal fucktard of unmatched ignorance. A pitiful misguided shitwit indeed. I hope her in-box is flooded with hate mail and assholegrams for life. Pappy Boyington was a hero. How dare she? I bet Robert Conrad would just dare her to knock a battery off his shoulder and then proceed to kick her ass even if she didn't.

Disgraceful treatment for the memory of an American soldier; they owe an apology to the Marine Corp.

Smith, according to the minutes, said "the resolution should commend Colonel Boyington's service, not his killing of others

His service was killing others.

According to a few other blogs it seems some pretty strong counter opnions have hit the e-mails. Of course now they are whining about freedom of speech , to bad they want to bad mouth one of men that gave them that freedom. I sometimes wonder if doing away with the draft was a good thing. I know the Armed forces state they don't need the draft but I think our country does.

I too was enraged at the comments by the student senate. The comment about "Marines" and the one about "rich white men". Do I think they ought to erect a statue honoring Boyington? NO!, by his own admission he was not a great role model, an alcoholic, several failed marriages, died broke, etc, etcc, etc. He was, by all accounts a man who lived life fully, and was often heroic in battle. But he, like many had a dark side. SO he fought hard, and he played hard, and hhis service to our country should not be discounted.

This is incredible, mind-numbing bullshit!

I wonder if they have read his book?

I doubt it. I have yet to meet a liberal who bothers to read history or serious non-fiction. If they did, of course, they couldn't remain a "liberal." They woud be kicked out of the cult for having too much forbidden knowledge.

Geez. Pappy was an amazing figure. Crazy, a misfit in many ways, and a wonderful human. A truly brave man. And, how he suffered for his country.

I doubt he drank much more than many of the undergrads do these days.

If they read his book, they would find out he really didn't like killing people. FDR, that icon of the liberal left, asked him to kill, and he complied. A minor detail.

What pathetic people that they refuse to honor his name.

I am a Boyington. My father, Jerry James Boyington, Sr. retired a major in the 101st Airborne, decorated 7 times, served his country in Vietnam, twice. Jerry james Boington, Jr. - died while serving his country in the 1st and 3rd SFC U.S. Army - John C.H. Boyington, SGT, U.S. Army, Rangers, 82nd Airborne -Grenada and Desert Storm. My father and both brothers defended this country by "killing" the enemy - not by playing Texas Hold'em with them. War is a reality - and publications, memorials, etc. should be realistic. War is kill or be killed. Not serve or be removed from serving.!!!
