Gut Rumbles

December 27, 2005

tomorrow is the day!

This blog will be FOUR YEARS OLD tomorrow!

That's fairly old in blogger-years. One of my projects for tomorrow is to go through the blog roll and delete a bunch of people who aren't posting anymore. (I wish I had a dollar for every blog that I've seen come and go since I started. The mortality rate for bloggers is impressive.)

I'm not burnt out yet, so I intend to keep writing. I don't want to miss posting my "Top 10 Assholes of 2005" on New Year's Eve. It's a good list, so don't miss it.

I want to thank everybody who visits this site for keeping my batteries charged and making this blog fun to write. If not for you, I would have quit a long time ago.

Looking forward to that list.

Rob, I want to thank YOU for four years of a great blog.

I first found your site sometime in early 03. (I don't remember precisely when, but it was definately before the Iraq invasion.)

You have been one of my daily goto's ever since.

Indeed, except for two others - Lileks and Drudge - all of the rest of my daily goto's from that time have either quit alltogether, or have reduced their posting so much that they have become every-now-and-thens rather than daily's.

Of course, I now have other, new, daily goto's - like the grouchy old guy in Atlanta. But yours is an old stalwart that is always entertaining.

I know you blog for yourself instead of for us, but it's still free ice cream to me, and I want you to know that I appreciate it.

I don't post comments that much, but if you ever quit writing, I would really miss you.

I found your site about a year and a half ago, and have really enjoyed your view on things. Happy Birthday "Gut Rumbles", and many more.

Happy Blogversary, Rob! Not sure how long I've been reading you -- since sometime before your Roscoe surgery -- so a good couplea years at least. Have to say you're the first link I click on most days that I have time to blog-cruise. Looking forward to many more years of same and also to eating ribs with you next time I'm out that way. Keep up the fine work, it's been a pleasure following your journey, one day at a time! And can't wait to see the newTop Ten! Happy 2006 to you from the land of fruits & nuts!

Happy Blog -O- Versery!

I'll be looking forward to that list. Narrowing it down to only 10 had to be terribly difficult.

Happy blogiversary Rob. No time for heartfelt thanks - I'm off to do tyke duty for the next few days but I wish your present will be a call from your son.

Thanks for the hours of entertainment.

Thank YOU for the 4-years of Gut Rumbles.

Wish I could remember who it was first pointed me to you. Fellow Georgia-based blogger is the only thing I know for sure.

He/she has probably used the Jedi mind trick to make me forget so I won't be able to sue.

happy blogiversary, Rob. you're the best asshole on the 'net. ;-)

Happy bloggy birthday, ya' grumpy old coot.

Count me in two ways, I'm a blog mortality but I surf through your pages almost every day. Why? Because it's much better than the average schlock out there. Keep it up Rob.

Happy Birthday Gutrumbles!

I think I found you through the military blogs a little over a year ago. If I hadn't been starving for war news I'd have never found you.

Also want to say KEEP IT UP. 66 days now? I admire your strength and determination. There are MANY who haven't been able to do that.

So New Year's Eve will be 69 days? That's a lucky number.... You oughta do somethin' real special (sans the spirits, of course).

I've been around here a long time. Guessing I caught you pretty soon after you started because I found blogs shortly after 9/11 and you were among the first few on my favorites list. We don't agree about everything, but you say the things I agree with more eloquently than I ever could. Always entertaining, except the g-ddam death watches! Hope you/we never have to endure another. Our life experiences are way apart, but similar in many ways, too, enough so to leave us here now in somewhat similar circumstances. I felt a kinship from the start that keeps me coming back, even when you seem to be going 'round the bend. Gratz on the 4 years, my friend. Here's hoping many, many more to come.

Rob, I can thank Allahpundit for my finding you...He had someone called "Yosemite Semite" on his blogroll, and it turned out to be you.

I've read your posts, I've partied with you, and now I'm seeing the "New Rob" coming back as if from the dead. Strange and bumpy ride, brothah, but I'm happy to be enjoying it with you.

May the next four years be at least as good. Happy Bloggy-Versary!

Thank YOU blogdaddy! If not for you, I wouldn't have started my blog, I wouldn't have met Cat and I wouldn't be going south in a few days!
You've made such a difference in my life, and I'm sure countless others, and I can't wait to thank you in person!

Happy 4th. And many more happy anniversaries are, I hope, in your future.

I cant even recall how it came to be that I found your blog. But its been several years now, as I had you bookmarked on my OLD computer (which was replaced by my current one in 2002) so its been awhile. I only began leaving comments within the past year (prior to that I was the proverbial blog reading wallflower)

Anyway, I never miss a day...(its the voyeur in me, I suppose)

Congratulations on your milestone.

I only found your blog a few months ago, but it is cerainly in my daily to-do list. I wish you another 4 years, and they are a better four years, filled w/ lots of red toenails. Please keep it running, as it is a breif moment of sanity in my dreary liberal tooty-fruity world.

Happy Birthday!

Crap. Looks like I'll be off the blogroll.

It was one of my proudest achievements.

Posted by: dipnut on December 28, 2005 02:04 PM

Way to go!! I'm not a blogger, but recently started reading them. I only have a few that I find interesting and you are one of my daily reads. I started reading your blog about 3 months ago. I just wanted to say congrats and glad your sticking with it (sobriety and blog)!!!!

Posted by: Hunter on December 28, 2005 03:21 PM

I only read your site to piss you off. So far it seems to be working.

Posted by: lg on December 28, 2005 04:45 PM

Happy BlogBday Rob.

I don't remember when I started. Much like I don't remember when I was born. Much like I don't hardly remember what somebody told me 'bout something yesterday, I think it was.

Keep on keepin' on man.

Hey, Happy birthday!

I've been reading you for three years. In fact, I started my own blog because of you (You said it was free, and I'm cheap). Thanks for everything.

This blog will be FOUR YEARS OLD tomorrow!

That's fairly old in blogger-years.Congrats. Look on the bright side; in blogger-years that's older than your (self-reportedly) broken-down cracker ass. ;pHere's hoping for another equally entertaining four years, Rob.

We love ya 'cause ya got STYLE, baby. And that's what keeps a lot of us outa jail--that, and only that. Keep on truckin'. Never stop bloggin'. We need ya on hand to help keep us sane while the whole friggin' world unravels. I'd give ya a big wet kiss but, sorry, I'm straight. Here's to endless healthy and sober years yet to come, pardner. We knew ya had it in ya to be all that you can be. The new year sure as hell can't be any worse than this one was, eh?
