a 'coon-dick bone

Have you ever seen a coon dick bone? They exist, and Jerome gave me one to hang over my office door for good luck.

Yes. When racoons have a "boner," they ain't kidding.

Well, at least what you do with it is better than the ones I've seen fashioned into TOOTHPICKS. For fuck's sake. I never needed a toothpick that bad.........

Humans and I believe some other primates are the only mammals without penis bones. All other mammals, I bvelieve, have bones in their peckers. I once almost bought a cane in a new englan antique shop made out of the penis bone of a whale.

Some people believe that they help men who have problems getting it up. You are suppose to put it in your gris gris bag and presto chango! You can get a boner.

I had one when I was a younger man. I used to live in North Carolina. Every goddam body coon hunts there. The coon dick toothpick was quiet common back then.

Setting: Insurance company office party
Date: Christmas 1978
My friend wrapped one of "those" in a pretty pink box for the white elephant gift exchange. Of course, the most strait-laced older woman there chose it. Most of us did not know what it was, but I still think it was the best white elephant gift ever.

Used to work with a guy who wore one around his neck and yes, he picked his teeth with it. We all called him Coon Peter. I was just a youngin then and it took me a spell to put 2 and 2 together. He hunted coon and was one of the best fishermen around. He'd have a fish fry and barbequed coon for all the guys once a year. He's been retired for some time now, I miss the fish and BBQ.

What is the Native American tradition behind the "Coon Dick". I bought one in a Trading Post in Az. couldn't pass it up.

I have a real honest to goodness coon dick....I keep it in my jewerly box until someone wants to see it. Right now it is on my desk at the office. I saw the coon it came out of, but before I would touch it, I soaked it in clorox for 3 days....Have had it for about 10 years now. Removed it from a Carrolton GA coon.
