He got me!

One thing in Quinton's Care Package that I didn't mention the other night is a picture taken of me around 1977, when I was posing on the driftwood beach on Wassaw Island. I was playing guitar for a living back in those days and my hair was LONG, 'way past my shoulders.

Tell me I don't have a smart boy.

"Daddy, you can't ever say anything about MY hair again, because yours is longer than MINE in that picture!" he told me tonight.

"Yeah, poot, but that was a long time ago and I was a guitar player then," I replied. "I was supposed to have long hair."

"Oh..." Quinton said. "It was the STYLE, right?"

"Yeah... I guess so."

"Daddy my hair is the STYLE now, so I'm just doing the same thing you did."

How the hell do you argue with that logic?

I think he got ya there. ;)

Don't ya just hate that? LOL

GUYK beat me to it! You don't! He's got ya on that one A-man!

You don't. You let him have his hair how he wants. It's not going to hurt anything.

You can't, that is if you want to stay honorable in his eyes.

It's a tough choice for me all of the time. Do I tell them (my girls) everything I did and the consequences or not?

Fuck if I know. As we all know, there isn't a printed guide or manual supplied.

The pecan don't fall far from the tree does it? My son amazes me more day and day because I see more and more of myself in him (godzilla have mercy).

I need a good health insurance agent.

D'hoh!

Point: Quinton

Let's just hope he doesn't have a mullet.

You could say something like, "Well I looked like an idiot, and I dont want you looking like an idiot." That's what my dad said to me. The only problem with that is I remember thinking to myself, "Pfffft MY DAD could NEVER be an idiot." and went on with what I was doing.

So yah, I guess there's no real way to argue with it.

And so it begins....

That is one smart kid you've got there!
I'm really happy y'all are keeping in contact again. Happy for you and for him.
: )

Ha! Your Dad was nicer than mine, Eddie.

Mine said "Because I goddamn well SAY you aren't having your hair like that, THAT'S why!"

End of discussion....
