celebrity bullshit

I agree with this post. If celebrities are so anxious to send money to Africa, let them send some of their own money. If it's such a worthy cause, then YOU contribute.

I've refrained from writing a post about Zimbabwe. Where are Peter, Paul and Mary now? Where are all the "activists" who protested against apartheid now that Robert Mugabe is attempting to become the Pol Pot of Africa?

Yeah... listen to the sound of silence. I suppose that because Mugabe is a black dictator, he's okay in Africa. To oppose HIM might be considered "racist." You won't see a bleeding heart leftist touching Zimbabwe with a ten-foot pole. That's not their kind of cause. It's not murder, theft or corruption they oppose.

In their minds, blood shows up only on white hands.

You should see what the bleeding heart, leftist government of NZ is doing about Zimbabwe. They now want to ban private citizens from travelling there to play cricket, because Mugabe likes the game. Alright, in truth, they want to ban the national team from going - but it's still as bloody ridiculous.

I agree, let's see one of these social conscious(sic) celebrities fess up the cost of one of thier lavish palaces to one of these noble causes they hold so dear. Kind of like some of these anti-gun celebs who refuse to give up thier armed-to-the-hilt bodyguards.

I am stealing this quote from a Zimbabwe man. I don't remember his name or if it is the exact words this is the jst of his words. "How can a potatoe farmer make any money when people are sending us free potatoes? Plus the overlords in that part of the world take most of the money for themselves. So who are they really helping?

In the last 43 years, 568 BILLION dollars in aid has been sent to Africa. This doesn't even take into account the amount of the "loans"which will very likely never be repaid.

Throwing money down a toilet does nothing but make the sewer masters richer.

Africa needs democracy and capitalism to succeed. We can start by arming the people of Zimbabwe.

It really is amazing how the left chooses to ignore history.

Oh, it will be our fault once a lefty gets hurt, trust me on THAT.

Ruth, from Chaos theory, highlighted this Spiegel article which is an interview with a Kenyan economist. He's begging for the aid to stop. It's a good read.

rightisright is, well, right. Airdrops in the starving areas of food mixed with Smith & Wesson 38 cal. revolvers, M1 carbines, and ammo for both, would go a long way towards solving Africa's problems.

I agree with Kim du Toit. Nothing can help Africa. If all the wealth on earth was devided equally with Africa geting it share per capita within a few years tribal leaders would have the majority of it. Capitalism and guns might help. Democracy is places such as black Africa winds up a tyranny by the majority and someone winds up in the cooking pot.

Everybody has wasted enough money on Africa. The people that need the money never get it. Let's send the people of Africa free guns and get Ted Nugent to go over and show them how to use them. What do you say? I will give any person a helping hand once and then teach them how to help theirselves. If they can't make it after that, fuck 'em.
