Gut Rumbles

go read this

It's a little long, but it has everything I like in a good blog post. It is eloquent, thoughtful, passionate, well-written and just a little bit angry. And it's also VERY RELEVANT today.

Damn! That is one fine post!

As a veteran, although I was never deployed into a war zone, I can empathize with the "flinching every time the doorbell rings" comment. That's part of the reason I left the military. I was trying to start a family and establish roots for the first time in my life and I didn't want my wife, and now, children to have thoughts/feelings like that. They deserve(d) better than that. Don't get me wrong, I'm the most military friendly person you'd ever meet, this was just a recounting of my personal feelings. I put my family before the military. I could go on but I think I've already blown the word limit Rob has placed on comments. Sorry!

Damn good post and not a bit of long. I was completely involved from beginning to end. That's another feature of clear writing; the reader doesn't have to reread something to try to understand it. ( I call that 'speed bumps') I was looking for more.

Thank you very much for the link, I appreciate it. I was more than just "a little bit angry", but gratified to see that the depth of my anger apparently wasn't reflected in the post.

Thanks Again.
All the Best
