strange, isn't it?

Yeah, I've noticed this, too. Guns are bad, bad, bad... but it could be okay to let a judge pack one in court.

If I didn't know better I might conclude that arming judges and airline pilots is a good idea, because these are RESPONSIBLE people, while the rest of the riff-raff out there can't be trusted. They're all just witless drones, incapable of making intelligent decisions and behaving rationally.

Nanny government thinks that way.

No kidding... Responsible my shiny white ass.

You know, I heard today there were something in the neighborhood of 2 dozen cops testifying for the grand jury, and none of them could help out in the initial hunt at the courthouse because the County Deputies had Confiscated their guns... locked them up, then ran away to help without unlocking the guns so the police could have them back.

Morons. Talk about a stupid law. Law Enforcement can't carry a weapon they have to be qualified to carry because they're in a courthouse? Please...

Uhm, in my experience, most people out there ARE witless fuckwits...

For a permit here in MA, you have to take an approved class (your expense) and submit an application to the town police chief (100 bucks) along with a letter explaining why you NEED a gun and references from two people. He then sends your prints to the FBI for investigation, the State Police of every town you've lived in, and the Department of Mental health.

If you've ever been convicted of a criminal offense EVER that could have given you over 2 years jail time (even if you received no jail time) you are ineligible. Here in MA, that includes OUI. If everything comes back clean, the chief can still deny you a permit without providing a reason. It's completely at his discretion.

It took over 2 months for all this crap to take place and for them to send my permit.

They want their own guns, and don't care weather other people have them as well. This seems kinda fucked up.
