morning mourning

Yeah, I'm posting at damn near 2:00 in the morning. I can't sleep. I TOLD you people before that I lose vicariously when a team I really like goes tits-up in a game. Tennessee beat Georgia 19-14.

Tits-up is too polite a term to apply to my beloved Bulldogs after that pathetic performance today. They suicide bombed themselves with stupid penalties, dumbass turnovers, a missed chip-shot field goal, poor blocking, poor tackling and one of the most fuckwitted examples of clock management that I've ever seen from a division 1-A coach. You NEVER piss away 19 seconds the way Richt did when you need a touchdown at the end of the game.

Georgia was flat as a pancake. Maybe they got too big for their own jockstraps after romping over LSU last weekend. The zebras didn't help the cause (some poor calls were made in the game), but that's immaterial. Georgia DESERVED to lose that game because they played like shit.

I predicted that this would happen to them if they played a quality team the way they did South Carolina and Georgia Southern. I was correct. Again. But knowing that I was right doesn't make me feel any better.

I am mourning this morning.

I wondered where you disappeared to after the game. I suspect if they'd called that time out when they SHOULD have, I'd be the one mourning today.

I did not bet on Ga yesterday, thank God. I have lost with those bulldogs twice this year and they are not that good on points. They should have blown out everyone they played so far this year and they have not done it so far. I love the dogs, but don't bet on them this year.

Well, it could be worse... you could be a Gator fan.

As a 3 time graduate of that program my mantra has always been -- Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

It's sort of like being a Red Sox fan.

Cheer up.

I'm still working on my post to my site (its a message board for college fans), but I will say that Tennessee played extremely well and above their talent. UGA played poorly and had a few questionable coaching decisions.

I was at that game though. The refs were too large of an impact and made some horrible calls. Some even against UT to make up for the botched ones against our Dawgs.

Bah . . . I need sleep...later.

The HELL you predicted this would happen!

You bragged your ass off a little prematurely, in fact...I have the email. TOLD YOU you'd jinx us!

At least you only witnessed the loss from your living room. I can't tell you how painful it was to witness it go down in person...the first loss in Sanford Stadium since 2001.

One more thing, yeah they played shitty, but we still would have had the game had it not been for the WORST bad call of the game...

Remember the drive that ended in the missed fieldgoal? That only happened AFTER we were robbed of a touchdown in that 2nd down.

I have shitty 4th row, 15th yardline seat, meaning I had a perfect view of the touchdown they refused to give us. Then I saw the replay. What was taken away from us was good.

....and I knew then, given the way they were playing, that that call would cost us the game.

If they had called that correctly, Richt wouldn't have felt as pressured, meaning he would have punted it AWAY when we were on our own 38...and the final score would have been 20 - 13 Dawgs.

Admittedly, the Dawg fans weren't helping our case by taunting the refs. They were either flipping them off, or screaming, "Whatever they're paying, we'll double it!"

I do believe Ms. Key is upset. Handwriting was on the wall after the South Carolina game. Your Dawgs will be lucky to end the year in the top 25. But what the hell do I know, I still think Clemson has a chance to finishi over 500/

He's right. They played like ass. My boys let me down.

Odd . . . I was in the East End-zone...we were separated by only 10k fans or so....
