May 30, 2003friday five1. What do you most want to be remembered for? I hope that I eventually write something that people read for a long time after I'm gone. Life is short, but good words live long lives. 2. What quotation best fits your outlook on life? "Who knows? Who cares? Why bother?" 3. What single achievement are you most proud of in the past year? Not killing myself when I contemplated doing it soooo many times. I am NOT a happy camper. 4. What about the past ten years? Everything I was proud of for ten years is gone. I live on scraps and memories now. I'm not proud of a goddam thing except my son anymore. 5. If you were asked to give a child a single piece of advice to guide them through life, what would you say? It's probably still around in a box somewhere, along with "sounds like a personal problem to me" and my "Vote Libertarian" pin. That last one really freaked out my former roommate, who is so far toward the dark side that he had printed and sold "LIAR" T-shirts with Bush's picture on them. Of course, when your father's career was as a "city planner," not of the physical infrastructure sort, but of the - get this - social sort, you're sure to have grown up absorbing evil influences. But I digress, and this is comments, not my blog. I'm worried about you man. I may have to come down there and take you out for a good steak dinner. After dinner we'll go to a good strip joint. Then we bring a few strippers back to your place and serenade them with our guitars while they give us head. Sound like a plan? Hell, it sounds fun to me, but my wife would kill me.
