I haven't done this in a while. I dragged my dusty backpack out of the garage and started to think about what I need to take with me. Four packs of boil-in-bag rice, a pound of salt-cured country ham, six bagels, four Cup O' Soup envelopes, some mixed nuts and five Snickers bars. I'm also packing a frozen bar of butter for the fish I intend to catch.
I added a quart of bourbon in a canteen, some salt and pepper in a film case and twenty aspirin plus five Band-Aids in a plastic baggie. I believe that I am ready.
I'm going into the woods tomorrow.
Jello/Cocoa/Coffee Crystals for chilly mornings?
Woman with red toe-nails? Whoops! Wrong list!
Have a great time.
Toilet paper in a baggie was the FIRST thing in my pack. I don't drink coffee anymore. Coffee makes me hostile.
And we wouldn't want to see you being hostile! ;>
Really, I'd hate to see you on coffee. Will one quart be enough? Rethink that.
Makes me glad I only took up rollerblading a couple of weeks ago (thinking it wouldn't be so strenuous), no stuff to pack.
I am not going anywhere with out my coffee, hostility or not. Back packing using Pete and Joe, or on horseback, you'll not find me with out coffee. I'll do without beer first. Where's the flyfishing rod? Sheet of plastic, for protection, a camera would be good too.
When you get ready for a new canteen, let me know. Got some really cool ones here. ;?)
What kind of gun are you bringing?
I took the .38 revolver with four bullets in the chambers and one fully-stocked speedloader. The pistol never left the backpack.
My knife is a 10" Buck that's sharp as a razor. I used that tool a LOT on my trip.
