Gut Rumbles

it rained!!!

Yep, after almost two months of NO RAIN AT ALL, I finally got wet. A little, ill-tempered thundercloud rolled over the Crackerbox today and dropped a load. Rain POURED from the sky!

It lasted about 90 seconds; then, the cloud roared off to tantalize somebody else, over toward the coast. The downpour didn't even wet my driveway good, and now the sun is steaming everything off. In an hour, you won't be able to tell that it happened at all.

Bejus! I never thought that I would find myself wishing for a tropical storm, but I am now. The ground around here needs a good soaking. That "rain" we had today does NOT qualify as a soaker.

It was a cruel joke.

It rained here today also, about 30 seconds, then hot sunshine again. Did not wet shit.

I got all of an eighth of an inch a bit ago. Just enough to get the steam coming out of the sand. Every little bit helps I reckon but I'm with you on a tropical storm..let 'er blow! as long as I get some rain.

Acidman, you didn't get any of the showers that swept thru last night? We only had a small downpour last night. Even though we have an irrigation system in the yard, I'm out moving the sprinkler around or certain parts of the yard this afternoon to keep it all alive.

Here? Almost 4 inches very early this morning. All the thunder woke me right up. By the time the sun came up it was just lightly raining, that *soaking rain* they love so much. Now the sun is out and I can go out there and get some stuff done.

(poke, poke!) ;-)

heh heh! Couldn't help myself.

Of course, GUYK kept getting all those showery type storms a few weeks ago - when we were DESPERATE for water - and did he send them OUR way when he was done?

Time after time, he'd go admire his beans and okra and 'maters, and plaster their pretty pix all over his site, and then...

then, when that nice rainstorm was SUPPOSED to head over to SFL from Tampa area...

Every single time.

Sorry, GUYK. Paybacks are hell.
