a change of direction

I am thinking seriously about giving up this blog-thing I've been doing for the past four years. It's caused me a lot of grief, and the guy who persuaded me to post ads on my page got me banned by Google and NOW owes me money that I never expect to see. How many times do I have to beat my head against a wall before I realize that this shit hurts!?

I am NOT in my right mind. Constant pain is not a friend of mine, and I'm starting to look fondly at a piece of garden hose, a roll of duct tape and the tailpipe of my pickup truck. Yeah, peeps, it's THAT BAD!!! I can't go on like this much longer.

Bejus! All my life, I've believed that a quitter never wins and a winner never quits. I'm starting to question that philosophy now.

I need some fucking relief.

I'm sorry you are in such pain.

... damn, dude...

Hate hearing how bad you're feeling... I hope you don't give up the blog... but definitely put it on hold when it hurts to type. If it doesn't distract you enough to give some relief, it's not worth it.

Can't your dr's office recommend someone affordable for massage? I know you don't live near a 'new age' city (LA, Seattle type)...but there must be a massage school where the people could work on you every day. I know there are massage therapists all over the place, if you could get those shoulders worked on every day... it would give some relief. And someone here mentioned acupuncture before... always hear good things about that.

I went to a chiropractor for awhile who specialized in Kinesiology. Amazing. Getting at the pressure points, working it out. I hope you get some type of relief, everyone's pulling for you.....

Rob, do what's best for you - if that means giving up the blog (even just temporarily), then you need to do it. I'm worried about you - please do whatever you can to feel better. We love you...

Sports therapists work wonders. My wife has had a herniated disc for over 10 years; the docs wanna fuse some vertebra. She's kept up with sports therapy and exercises as needed, and is more mobile than I am.

Good luck, Rob.

Jebus Rob, if you're in so much pain that you're puking and feel suicidal, take some pain meds. If you're out of meds, call the doctor and get a precription called in so you can make it to Monday.

If you're too stubborn to take this advice, then at least try sucking down some Motrins. They'll help some.

Man! {hug} it is all I have to offer to you. Feel better soon.

Get your shoulders done and reward yourself with a holliday that is something to look foreward to.
Taking youself out is for shits.

Sorry things are going so bad, Rob. Wish I could help.

Go for option 2. Prescribed medication and a visit to the ER.

I think the secret to enjoying blogging is to have no grand expectations. Just do it for the fun and the social contact.

The caged bird still has to sing, Robbo.

What Libby said, Rob. Seriously.

Why not go out in a blaze of glory?

Maybe a suicide/homicide bombing at the local mosque?

get those shoulders fixed so we can go fishin'

Posted by: GUYK on May 13, 2006 04:21 PM

Guy, I believe that if I kept my elbows tucked in close to my sides, I could cast for bream in a fishpond. But you can fuggedaboudid when it comes to throwing a line for trout in salt water.

THAT, I cannot do anymore...
