sad, but true

I might think that this was satire if I didn't hear the same kind of shit all the time. I sometimes wonder how so many people can remain so woefully ignorant in the midst of so much news reporting today.

Maybe it's just sheer overkill. We get so much news that we become confused instead of informed. It's just too much information for people to keep it all straight in their heads.

But being confused or woefully ignorant damn sure doesn't stop people from answering opinion polls. Then, the POLLS become news, which causes the uninformed to turn to the clueless for guidance.

If 60% of the people answering a poll said that the moon is made of green cheese, that's gonna tell a lot of people what to think, especially if they can see a nice, simple bar graph of the poll results. People may not have the slightest idea what the moon is made of, but they don't want to sound confused, ignorant or out of touch with the intellectual mainstream. They want to be part of that BIG bar on the graph.

Trumpet the poll results, then take another poll. All of a sudden, 85% of the people believe that the moon is made of green cheese. That's how we get "conventional wisdom."

No wonder we're... well... fucked up as a can of worms today.

Survey Sez....

People are sheep.

85% of statistics are made up on the spot.

Funny when the polls are favoring Bush, you hillbilly idiots love to use them to support your Republican propaganda. But when the majority of Americans finally show they are becoming wise to the bullshit being shoveled out by this administration, it's all the media's fault. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and every other media outlet in America besides FOX is obviously "fucked up as a can of worms". Hell, why don't y'all tell Rove and Rumsfeld and Bush to start paying the media here like they're doing in Iraq to get the media to say what you want to hear. Then the polls will head back in Bush's favor I'm sure.

Jarrod, WTF are you ranting about? I just took an independent poll where a vast majority of Americans (me, to be specific) think you are a horse's ass.

Hi Rob!

Thanks for the link.

It's so good to see you back in action, and getting back to your old self again.

All the best.

Think Jarrod missed the point. Polls aren't worth crap. They're misleading and inaccurate. Many times they are meant to sway opinion in favor of the poll's "majority" result. They probably failed to mention they took this approval rating Birkenstock poll at Berkley. You lost! Get over it. We all voted and fact is there are more of us than there are of you. Worst part for you is you gotta slither off knowing that you got beat by a bunch of "hillbilly idiots." News Flash....You're gonna lose in 2008 too. 'Cause you dumb asses are gonna put Hillary on your ticket. You won't learn from the last election that you need to aim in the middle. Once again you will aim left.....and miss like a mutha fucka.

Out of 415 historians polled by the History News Network, 388 believe Bush is failing, 77 thought he was succeeding, and a total of 50 felt that he was clearly in the lead for worse president ever. Even conservative historians are impressed with his ability to screw up. Here's the criteria that is brought up by historians as why Bush is so high in these rankings:

* He has taken the country into an unwinnable war and alienated friend and foe alike in the process;
* He is bankrupting the country with a combination of aggressive military spending and reduced taxation of the rich;
* He has deliberately and dangerously attacked separation of church and state;
* He has repeatedly "misled," to use a kind word, the American people on affairs domestic and foreign;
* He has proved to be incompetent in affairs domestic (New Orleans) and foreign (Iraq and the battle against al-Qaida);
* He has sacrificed American employment (including the toleration of pension and benefit elimination) to increase overall productivity;
* He is ignorantly hostile to science and technological progress;
* He has tolerated or ignored one of the republic's oldest problems, corporate cheating in supplying the military in wartime.

Oh....HISTORIANS believe! Well...that just changes everything doesn't it. I mean who gives a shit what the average VOTER thinks about it. They don't count, right? We gotta get a panel of EXPERTS to ask these questions that the average 'merican is too stupid to answer. Poll all you want. Bitch all you want. The ultimate poll happened on election day. He didn't squeeze by, he won BIG. Do I agree with everything he's done. No. But he's a hellava lot better than any thing you can throw in from left field, fella.

"Poll all you want. Bitch all you want. The ultimate poll happened on election day. He didn't squeeze by, he won BIG."

Won BIG? You call 51% to 49% BIG? That is pretty lame. I guess it didn't help that Bush had a Republican Sec. of State working behind the scenes in Florida in 2000 (along with daddy's appointment on the supreme court to vote in his favor), and again in Ohio in 2004. As far as what the American people think, almost two thirds think this country is on the wrong track under this moron. He will also face impeachment proceedings when the Democrats take back control of Congress in 2006.

Jeebus Acidman, do you really believe the moon is made of green cheese? I mean, how can you believe that? How can you say that? I bet you probably believe that there was no moon landing.

And where did you get the 85% number? C'mon, let's see the link.

Geez, you reich wingers are so dumb.

Jack, you are one of those who simply repeat what you hear on the news....especially the must really love those ridiculous polls. Have you any ideas of your own? Bush won more of the populous vote than any other president in history. That fact is undisputed. Yes I call that winning big. There are more screaming liberals now than there has ever been....More of us too...kinda chaps your ass doesn't it. You said "almost two thirds (of the American People) think this country is on the wrong track under this moron." Really! Perhaps you can show me where the entire population of America voted in a poll and 2/3 decided he was a moron. Please show me that poll. I'd love to see it. The point of this post is that POLLS ARE WORTHLESS. Election Day polls proved that. I'm sure you were shocked and amazed that he won. I will concede that most Americans are not in complete agreement with everything this President or any other before him for that matter has done. I already said that about myself. The simple fact is that you (the left) have absolutely nothing better to offer...Nothing. You guys bitch really well though...really I mean that with utmost sincerity. -Dong'

"He will also face impeachment proceedings when the Democrats take back control of Congress in 2006."

Through all your blubbering, I didn't hear you argue this point. Bush is as good as gone when the Democrats take back power in 2006. Can you say "IMPEACHMENT"? You should also get prepared to salute Hillary as your new Commander In Chief after 2008 as well. I know that will set well with so many of you hard core, right wing, nut jobs.
