I want one!

Dear Santa--- Gimme one of these for Christmas and I promise to kiss your ass be a good boy forever and ever. Honest.

Unless, of course, somebody really pisses me off at a distance of 2500 meters.

(Link shamelessly stolen from here. He's got some good comments, too.)

I want one too!

Wonder how good I'd have to be to get one...

I'm thinking if you had one of these you'd be a good boy for all of two seconds,,,about the time the first herd of cats rounded the corner!

Sweet Beejus on a pogo stick! 25mm - - That's .98 caliber!

Seriously, though, I'm just damn glad we can put weapons like this in the hands of our troops.

Range 2500 meters
HEDP round (High Explosive Dual Purpose)

Picture Abdul rigging a roadside car bomb. The nearest American soldier is 8,200 feet away. But he has an XM-109. Gently and slowly he presses the trigger...

MEEEEE TOOOO!!! Wow, what a rush to shoot that contraption.
I'm still thrilled with my AK-47. Drag it around in the mud, blood and beer and it still hammers 'em out.

Here in Colorado we have a Big Caliber shoot annually. Love to attend it, but I'm always workin'! One day, though. One day.
Keep doin' what you're doin'. Remember, if you don't drink...you can't get drunk!!! Duh!!!
Amazing how many of us forget that.

Bests, Doc

Ernie, dude, I don't ever want to go hunting or shooting with you. You "squeeze", or carress the trigger. You never PRESS (or pull) the trigger. Rookies. Damn.

A-man, in a few more months, you should be stable and steady enough to hit something at 2500 meters. Right now though, if I were your toes, I'd be nervous.

You'll get there. And maybe one of your fans will get you one for Christmas. One more gun you WON'T own.

Well, leave it to Barrett to take the 25mm grenade from the OCSW and make a usable weapon out of it.

That said, I wouldn't count on hitting anything at one and a half miles out without a ballistic computer and some very, very, very good optics.

Mr Lion, you should check out the long range specs required to graduate from Sniper School. I had to hit an 8 inch target at 800 yards with an M-14 with open sights.

Scopes are just cheating.

Sorry, I meant 800 feet. On my belly. From a hide. After a long crawl. Though I have hit plenty of targets beyond 800 yards with open sights.

Yep. That's a nice varmint gun. I asked my wife for one for christmas. She ain't buying it. She just don't understand the size of the varmints here in south Florida.
