November 02, 2005Support our troops!I'd like to direct your attention to a worthwhile project that Soldier's Angels is doing to help our wounded servicemen and women. It's called Project Valour-IT (Voice Activated Laptops for OUR Injured Troops), and it provides laptops with voice-activated software to soldiers in military hospitals who have lost the use of their hands and arms so that they can communicate with their friends and family via the internet. Each computer only costs $685 to set up, so even small donations help. Soldier's Angels is having a big fundraising drive for Valour-IT between now and Veteran's Day, complete with incentives for donors and including a friendly competition between the branches. Click over to my blog for details and ways to donate. I'm representing Team Army, in honor of my husband and many other relatives and friends, but there are links to the other branches on my blog if you'd like to support those teams instead. Comments
I've met a lot of great men & women through Soldiers Angels. Posted by: Maeve on November 2, 2005 09:25 PMI believe it is in poor taste from an etiquette standpoint to crosslink every fucking post you put up as a "friend" to your own blog to generate traffic. That is my personal opinion. Posted by: Velociman on November 3, 2005 12:05 AMDid you even click over and read that post Velociman? I only linked my blog as a place to find more info. It's easier to put it all over there, rather than clutter up this place with extra buttons and links. Furthermore, as a working girl, I don't have time to blog over here and over there. So I crosspost some of my things. Not to mention that several of my posts over here have been free of links to my own site. I don't give a SHIT about my traffic. I don't blog for fame. I don't have ad revenue to worry about. Unlike some. If you don't like it, kiss my ass. I'm here for Rob, not you. Let's get back to the issue at hand. Valour-IT is a great project that really helps our wounded service folks keep in touch and rebuild some of their confidence. Bringing up petty shit only negates what they're trying to do. No problem with this particular project. As I said, it is the pervasive crosslinking I find crude. And, again, that's just my opinion. Make of it what you will. I don't care. Posted by: Velociman on November 3, 2005 12:26 AMUh......err.......I ain't gettin in tha middle of THAT, but I have donated to support Ziegenfuss and his injured brothas, even when he dogged my hometown! Thanks Toni! Posted by: caltechgirl on November 3, 2005 01:17 AMYou betcha gurl! ;) Posted by: Lil Toni on November 3, 2005 01:23 AMOh, V-Man, and your comment was well thought out? Sad. I suppose Rob would enjoy his blog, on some level, descending into Planet of the Apes. Anybody who gives a shit about 'traffic'...well, that is just sad. I hope someone is drunk, here, because this is just pitiful. Posted by: Bane on November 3, 2005 02:30 AMWhether a joke or not, pathetic. Posted by: Laughing Wolf on November 3, 2005 08:56 PMAmends have been made, Culpa's have been Mea'd, and let he who is without sin, cast the first stone. I, too, apologize for any affront my famous Aries temper may have afforded. Posted by: Bane on November 3, 2005 10:31 PMover and done with. Let's all get back to the task at hand. Posted by: caltechgirl on November 4, 2005 12:56 AMHow'd you know what I was holding in my hand? Spooky... Posted by: Bane on November 4, 2005 01:43 AMPost a comment
