Political Correctness is Losing

For a little Sunday Sermon, go here.

For a little red-meat for the un-PC crowd, here's a great story.

Gun-control groups and other organizations are putting pressure on the Washington Redskins (website - news) to cancel an upcoming benefit event at a shooting range in Prince George's County.

The team has been planning to put on the first Redskins Sporting Clays Challenge on Tuesday in Glenn Dale, but the sponsor of the event - NRA Sports - is part of the National Rifle Association, which wants Congress to repeal the District's gun laws.

Jesus, the NRA and a team that wouldn't be bull-dozed into changing its name to something more palatable to the Perpetually PO'd: you can't get more rightwing than that.
Antigun groups plan to go to Redskins headquarters on Monday to protest the event and to deliver a letter to Redskins owner Dan Snyder. If that doesn't work, they plan to protest at Tuesday's event.
I can think of a good way to discourage the protesters, but that might not go over well in the area that was terrorizied by the DC Snipers a few years back.

That Mr. Snyder has the stones to even think of holding this event says a lot about him. Most public figures have been cowed (literally) into submission by now.

There is always hope.

I am the NRA. Screw the LLL, anti-gun, left-wingnuts.

I think Dan Snyder is probably used to it by now. After all, aren't about a gazillion liberal groups hassling him to change the un-PC name of his football club?

I believe that I'd think twice about going to protest at an event where EVERYBODY IS HOLDING A GUN.

I'd like to see them try to start some kind of BS with a guy holding a 12 gauge--might give new meaning to "civil disobedience."
