a good day

Yesterday was a good day. I felt better than usual, which was nice, but the best thing of all was a few friends showing up out of the blue, uninvited and unrequested, to fix my mailbox, cut my grass, haul all the trash out of my house, clean my filthy-assed kitchen and even bring me a box of chicken to eat.

I tried to pay them, but they wouldn't take any money, not even for the chicken. They DID drink the six-pack of Shiner Bock I had in the refrigerator, but I considered that more than a fair trade.

I hope I didn't break a date with this woman, because I was supposed to call her last night. I didn't. Another batch of assholes friends showed up to watch Monday Night Football with me, and I got distracted. Probably because THEY brought the Shiner this time.

I have no idea what time they left or what time I went to sleep. But I must have had fun, because I don't remember who won the game.

Sorry, Baldi. I'll make it up to you this evening.

What a great post to brighten a dreary day. I love the vision of you surrounded by friends.

Hope you managed to eat some of that chicken.

As long as you're had a great time, Sweetheart.

Ain't it great when someone shows up to lend a hand without being asked and with no expectation of anything other than a smile in return? I've been on both ends of that situation. It just makes everyone involved feel good.

sweeeet dude! those are some good vibrations. it's because giving is better than receiving--that's why they did it. just ask those lousiana looters. i'm sure they'd know a thing or two about giving. oops, did i say that out loud?

I hope your friends keep dropping in. No matter what choices you make - you know yourself better than anyone else - I hope you are surrounded by friends and help and love as you take this voyage you have chosen. We all die anyway, right? I can understand someone wanting to pick their way. May you find that your friends are there for you when you need....
