it's not their money

Why the hell shoud THEY care where it goes? If you're not already pissed off by this shit, you should be now. Do you own your own home? Think about it.

I pay for homeowner's insurance. If something happens to my house, I won't be bleating to the federal government for money. I'll be bitching at my agent to make things right. If I owned a business, you can bet your sweet ass I would have that insured, too.

Once the federal government starts dumping truckloads of taxpayer dollars into every got-dam disaster that comes down the pike, we're done for as a country. Unlike ME with my insurance company, the people asking for dough now never paid any premiums to deserve it.

And don't give me any shit about these people being too "poor" to afford insurance. Renter's insurance is dirt cheap. For about $15 a month you can insure every piece of property you own. I'll bet you that the people WITHOUT renter's insurance managed to have cable TV. Don't feed me that "poor" bullshit.

This is not a federal government to the rescue issue. It's a goddam feeding frenzy. If it were up to me, I wouldn't give those whining, irresponsible bastards a fucking dime.

The inspectors general from half a dozen agencies, as well as officials from the Government Accountability Office, on Wednesday were addressing a House subcommittee on the Katrina cleanup and announcing several new audits to combat waste and fraud.

They are pledging strong oversight that includes a review of no-bid contracts and close scrutiny of federal employees who now enjoy a $250,000 - rather than a $2,500 - purchase limit for Katrina-related expenses on their government-issued credit cards.

``When so much money is available, it draws people of less than perfect character,'' H. Walker Feaster, inspector general of the Federal Communications Commission, said. ``It underscores the need for internal controls of the money going out.''

No shit, Sherlock. And I already know how good the federal government is at "oversight" when it comes to spending money.

Fuck New Orleans and fuck Louisiana. Tear down the levees and let it all wash into the Gulf of Mexico. Maybe the ensuing flood will take out a few corrupt politicians and make the world a better place. That's MY money they're begging for.

I earned it. They didn't. And I don't believe in rewarding irresponsibility.

I'm with ya on this. It's not fair to see hard-earned Tax Dollars wasted so blatantly. I sense a backlash a-comin' once people figure out what the money is actually going toward.
But by then, it's too late.

"She (Blanco) declined later to respond to Brown's accusations when given a specific opportunity by Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N."

This best describes the whole fiasco whc\ich was just a whitewash of Blanco and Nagin and designed to make Brown the scapegoat.PORK THE WHOLE LOT OF THEM! I'm ready to kick the bums out and bring in some new bums.

Cable TV??? Hell, most of them probably have that fancy satellite TV stuff. It always astonishes me that people who are too poor to shit manage to have the latest-biggest-fastest TVs, game consoles, etc.

But renter's insurance - anyone who does NOT have it is a bona-fide moron. I pay less than a nickle a day for more coverage than I will ever need. But we all know that is not nearly as important as having the newest X-Box or Gameboy cartridge ...

Whether it's hurricanes or apartment fires, it always amazes me when they interview the grieving resident who "has just lost EVERYTHIING'"a nd their kids are standing around in $200 tennis shoes & wearing $100 Michael Jordan clothes with the obligatory gold chains--but they "didn't have no insurance..."

I agree with you 100% Rob. If you don't have the gumption to fend for yourself, then don't be surprised when your out in the cold and hungry.

I found a new group blog by a bunch of liberal morons, and one of them had a POST commenting on this post!

I know You don't give a crap, Rob, your hide is thicker than a rhino's, but this guy just went too far in lambasting you...

I almost fell for the con 'they were too poor to get out' until I remembered that almost every home that people had to be rescued from had two or three late model cars drowned in the driveway. They didn't get out because they didn't want to get out. They thought the idiot mayor would save their ass and he left them for the gators. Guess all the N.O. cops are now riding new Caddie's. Seems there's lot's of photo's showing them stealing them. Wonder if the left wing press (idiots with a pen or a camera) will release them or cover up for the 'poor' criminals. Don't worry about anything but your drugs, the government will replace it if you have never worked two days in a row in your life. Work two days and you're on your own forever.

delftsman3 ---Did you try to post on the idiots blog. Most of them won't let anyone post that doesn't agree with them. Kind of like talking to a fence post . Always get the answer you want.

Went over and had a look. EEWWWWW. Think I got some of it on my shoe yet. Didn't leave a comment and don't want to debate w/ them. I got the distinct impression that nothing I could ever say would make much of a difference.

Hey, if you know it all already, who needs to listen anymore?

No. I haven't tried yet scrapiron. I was too angry on Rob's behalf to respond to the marxist moronic moonbat (yeah, I KNOW those terms are redundant). MY response would have been with Mama's Mossburg...

Besides, I know Rob can more than take care of himself...the only danger with this moron is that Rob would laugh himself into a case of the vapors.

BTW Rob, mamamontezz just isn't herself these days, could you send her an e-mail and maybe cheer her up a little?

Agree with your general sentiment, here in England everyone has home insurance - but your profile says you are unemployed and yet your tax dollars are being wasted ? I dont understand that - if it is the same system as in England you are taking from the state in unemployment benefit - so how are they wasting YOUR money ?

I was talking to my buddy about this two weeks ago. I told him that the real suckers were the people who had actually paid for homeowner's/renter's insurance.

Too bad the 535 pandering politicians in the House and Senate can't seem to locate one pair of balls to tell the uninsured schmucks in LA/MI/AL to fuck off..

obviously you know nothing about insurance and you are an idiot.
A- Flood insurance cost more than simply home insurance. Renter's insurance does not cover flood damage. Flood insurance is extremely expensive.
B- Many insurance companies have gone bankrupt and cannot pay their policy holders.

Maybe you (and the rest of you ditto heads) should educate yourselfs before taking an opinion on an issue.
