You do it the total opposite of how I do it. I take the live crab, hold 'em by all their legs, and pop their shell off on the corner piece of 2x6 of my back deck. Pop off the shell, break 'em in half, pull off the gills, clean out that nasty inside stuff with a hose, and then steam 'em for 15 to 20 minutes. Let them cool, and there you have fresh, clean crab to eat and no mess to clean up except the shells. Dip 'em in garlic butter, and yowza!

And Livey, at least you didn't think it said Sex in a Pot!

Looks good to me! I got to do the cooking because sweetthing don't like to hear them scream when I drop them into the boiling water.

Same way Cajuns do it, except we've evolved to doing it outdoors in bigger pots. Or we do it with fresh shrimp. Or the KING of boiled crustaceans: crawfish!
