How'd I miss it?

I didn't see this story in the news. Something just ain't right when a woman earns a Silver Star in COMBAT and receives less publicity than Private Jessica Lynch got for being in a vehicle accident.

I found the article on another un-heard of blog, found via Cal Tech Girl's new blog showcase.

Not a bad place for a coffee break.

If there's any justice in the world, I'll get to buy this girl a beer. Or six.

Just damn.

The MSM has been entirely too busy lately with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes to bother with such 'trivial' stories.

Shane..as a veteran myself and a military spouse that conversation you just repeated is embarrassing...that is no way for a service member to speak about another..in private nor in public. That's disgraceful.

HERE IS another Military female that deserves more attention than she'll get.

I'm sure that if the good Sgt. had died in the ambush, she'd have made front page news, but doing an exemplary job as a soldier just doesn't make the cut.

I did read about it in one of the local papers, Tampa Tribune I think.

Sandy, I would say that ONLY another soldier would have a right to "talk like that". The facts are the facts...Lynch is hardly a hero...she went through a bad ordeal, and she does deserve respect for her service, but the MSM made her out to be much more than that..

And I am a vet, so I feel the right to voice my opinion.

Sandy, you must have been in a different military than the one I was in. The troops have a tendacy to call them as they see them, especially when speaking among themselves. I do concur that such conversations should be done among themselves and not where they can be overheard by a civilian.

The miltary, especially the NCO corp, has a tendacy to police itself and eight balls are ostracized and rediculed. RE: John Kerry

This Sergeant of Engineers pulled together a lot of information... http://www.livejournal.com/users/sappersgt/121376.html

Oh man I ain't talkin' about the freakin' elections so you can leave kerry out of it...but do you honestly believe Lynch came home and hired a publicist? Do you think she wanted all this? The MEDIA did it to her and for people to talk ugly about the kid is silly.

Delftsman..if you wanna cherry pick Lynch and her ordeal than I suppose you can but...it still don't seem right to me..no matter how you slice it.

I saw this story Monday night, ON MY LOCAL NBC station! Couldn't believe it! I was actually hollerin at the TV: "YES, you GO girl - about time we start hearing about some of these heroes!" I'm pretty sure I'd have never seen it on CBS.
