June 10, 2005panic! Panic! The news media are flogging this story for all it's worth, which isn't really much in MY humble opinion. It just looks like a big rainstorm to me. We get those all the time, all summer long in the South, especially along the coast. It may be "tropical" in nature, but it's still no more than a windy, wet blow. I don't believe that WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!! It damn sure ain't no killer hurricane.

It's part of the program, Acid. Every blower is going to be a mega story for the MSM, so they can blame global warming for the "extreme" weather. They'll do anything to confiscate my truck! Posted by: Maggie on June 10, 2005 10:19 AMHope it gets pulled up the Ohio Valley. My garden need the rain. Posted by: Terry on June 10, 2005 10:46 AMOn the flip side, Allison did a real number on Houston a few years back.; flooding took out most of the medical center. Seems most power transformers and such are in the basement, not good when your flooded midway up the first floor. Posted by: bottlestop on June 10, 2005 11:11 AMWe're all gonna DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEE! Posted by: Curtis on June 10, 2005 12:34 PMTropical storms are nothing to sneeze at. They can kick some major ass as well. We ARE all gonna die, but not becuase of a little thunderstorm, but becuase of the leftist bitches whining their way around Washington these days. Posted by: Florida Bill on June 10, 2005 12:38 PMYep. The weathermen are in that rock and hard place situation. Back in the 90's here on the west central coast there was one hell of a strom that rolled in off the gulf. Weather people warned but no one listened. Did millions in damages. Weatherpeople took it in the ass because the do gooders screamed that the warnings were not "dire" enough. So now they get excited over a mild blow. Posted by: GUYK on June 10, 2005 01:20 PMCurtis, you just made my day! That was sooooo funny! Posted by: Bonita on June 10, 2005 06:17 PMI used to live on the Texas coast. We've had more damage from freak winds than tropical storms. The thing that gets me is that when the locals are leaving- because a good hurricane is coming- the surfers are moving in because of the waves. Either way, you're going to loose all the valuables you left in the house. Posted by: KurtP on June 10, 2005 11:29 PMUs Yankees up here in the Northeast are due for a good Hurrican right about now, it seems. I remember quite a few coming up this way while I was in elementary school, but it seems to have been over 6 years since we've had one, let alone a "good" one.
