The U.N. was sort of a speedbump on the way to the freeing of Iraq. Remember Mr de Villipen promising to veto anything the U.S. brought to the SC? He was the one who traveled the globe bribing and threatening everyone he could reach to see things his way. It worked on Turkey, but I still bet he won't keep his promise to let them into the EU. One thing about the French, they don't let the right thing get in the way of TotalFinaElf profits.

Consider the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis that wouldn't be alive under Saddam if he was still in power. He was killing them off at a pretty good clip. Mass graves and all that. Then there was his prison population reduction program. When he needed more room he'd just kill off enough to make the prison space he wanted. No panties on the head for him. He just shot them.
