Gut Rumbles

April 06, 2005

they stole my name!!!

I haven't listened to any of their music, but they're called acidman, so they probably suck big-time. They damn sure ain't the prettiest boys I ever saw. I think they're working on that "bad-ass rocker" look and just haven't figured it out yet.

But if they were going to steal, why didn't they name the band "GUT RUMBLES?" That's where the title of this blog came from. I was playing bass guitar in a garage rock band at the time and "Gut Rumbles" was MY suggestion as a name for the band. I was out-voted and I've been pouting ever since.

Those guys don't look like Acidmen to me.

They don't look anything like you, man. You should've got in on some of that feeding frenzy sick 'er somethin'?

They look more appealing than these emaciated goblin-freaks we got on the "scene" here. Sorry if I offend any Punks that might post here, but damn! All the modern-day rockstars can do is scream like gorillas about how much they want to kill themselves since their girlfriend dumped them, or that they hate their parents, or some Michael Moorish bile concerning everyone's favorite Republicrat.

A very astute and apprapos comment as I sit and listen to Steely Dan's "Deacon Blues" They don't make 'em like that anymore.

My biggest problem with recent Rock music (were talkin' since the mid-90s to present day) is the sharp shift to rediculous melodrama. I've got a CD tower full of 80s Rock, with Judas Priest, Megadeth, Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, the works. Now THAT was some good shit, but hey, nothing's permanent, and I guess the legions of mall monkeys have decided that a massive wave of depression and angst should reign for a decade or two.

The goth freaks are everywhere. It's cool to be depressed. White makeup and black lipstick and clothes worked for Alice Cooper. but that was somehow different. I bet they would say, Alice who?

If I could ever manage to get myself into a significant enough position within the Department of Education, I'd make make 80's Metal a required course to graduate from high school. It'd sure as hell be a lot more beneficial than those electives concerned with studying the art of cultures that are still in the Stick Age.

Thirty years or so ago if I was asked 'want some Acid Man?', it was not yourself that was being offered.

Their fan club has 14 members...LOL

Their "rules" say "You must be a fan of Acidman, or you wouldn't be here."

This site is much more interesting because it welcomes fans and ... JB.

They look kinda like their parents maybe took too much acid, man...
it's the Charles Manson look in their eyes, dead giveaway.
