blind dates

Have you ever had a "blind date?" I don't mean a date who couldn't SEE, but someone YOU had never seen or spoken to before. Somebody set you up, you got roped into it by a friend, or the offer came and you accepted. How many people actually have done that?

I have, three times. One totally sucked (not in a sexual way), one was a very pleasant partner who showed me a good night, and the other was someone I almost fell in love with. She was a respiratory therapist. She was Irish and she could drink like a fish. Had big titties, too.

She gave a tremendous back-rub, but she got a lot of practice on the job with terminal lung cancer, heart disease and emphasema patients to help their breathing. She worked around DYING PEOPLE every day.

I don't know how she did it. I don't believe that I could. But she was one hell of a woman. I came close to falling in love with her.

We split when I went off to Athens to attend graduate school. I haven't seen her or heard about her now for almost 30 years. I find that idea strange, although I have no idea what made me think of her tonight. I hope life treated her well.

Blind dates. Have YOU ever had a good one?

I married both of my (&only two) blind dates.

Made it ten years, and have remained friends with, with the first, and I'm going on eleven years with the second.

Yep, one blind date and still married here too.

Just goes to show that I wasn't very good at deliberately picking women.

I had one when I was selling autos, a salesman hooked me up with her for Friday night, by wednesday I was getting very nervous, so I found out where she worked and paid her a visit on thursday, I thought she would be a dog. I met her and she was a knock out, to make a long story short, I screwed her about 50 times and then started fucking her friends. Turned out to be a great blind date, Cat.

I was at a Sci-Fi Convention back in the 70's, where the connecting hotel was also hosting a convention for 'blind singles'. My group, drunk (as usual) ran into a group of theirs entering an elevator, and this blind (also drunk) hottie slammed into me and exclaimed "Sorry, I'm blind!" Gentleman that I am, I exclaimed "I'm blind, too!" and we proceeded to Grok each other most gloriously. I always wanted to tell her how beautiful she truly was, but we crashed together like two icebergs, and then moved apart.
Don't read this to her, and it won't hurt her feelings.

I always LOVED to go on blind dates. Never had a bad one, fortunately, though. The anticipation of the unknown was always exciting/titilating...
Married a blind date.....didn't last, but no regrets...he was a good guy, just not the right guy

Blind dates can be interesting! I ended up seeing my blind date for a year before it died a natural death.

I've been on two blind dates, one of which was just so-so (no chemistry) and the other was real yucky, although it did have a redeeming ending 9for me).

For the really bad blind date, some friends wanted me to escort a gal they knew to a banquet, and I reluctantly accepted (looking forward to getting a free meal). Well, the gal never said one word to me at all. We also couldn't find the banquet hall, so went to a movie and then out to eat afterwards. The restaurant gave us seperate checks, and I handed them to each person. And then I gave my blind date her check with a flourish, saying "and this one is for you!" She said, "What's this!?" And I said, "That's the first words you've spoken to me all night. And I'm not in the habit of paying for meals for people I don't know!" She was upset, and I was loving it! Paybacks are Hell, ain't they?! :-)

I went on a blind date once. It was a party in a field back home (northwestern PA). I fell head over heels for this guy, got engaged, got married and it lasted an entire 6 months! I swore I'd never do that again...

It didn't happen to me but my brother went out on a blind date for his first date ever. He came back and told me he was going to marry her. They will celebrate their 50th anniversary on March 17. She was the only girl he ever went out with and he was the second guy she ever dated.
