piss me off

What is it with all the blogs that won't remember personal information when I want to leave a comment? I'm getting sick of this shit. It's as bad as having to REGISTER to leave some of my sparkling wit behind.

I've gotta type my name, my email and my web address in EVERY FUCKING TIME, even though you teasers have that "remember my personal information" button on your page. Either get that problem fixed or get rid of the button.

Lyin' shits.

Comments

Some that used to do it had some kind of meltdown recently, because about half of them stopped remembering me. Glad I'm not alone.

The information is stored in browser cookies. Cookies expire, and have to be reset from time to time. Thus the disappearing information.

LOL! I totally agree, A-Man. It really is a pain. But if it keeps spam crap off their sites, I don't blame them.

What Mr. Lion said, and if you have cookies disabled in your browser, it's not going to save your info (it's saved on your machine, not the blog server).

that can be a good thing that all blogs and websites remember you as a blank slate, nothing more disconcerting then a an email from a website where they seem to know my dark side....an email that says would you like more naked pictures of buxom redheads? did I click there, or are they just reading my mind?

Your's seem to work.

Left a comment in an earlier post and clicked remember info.

I didn't have to type in anything except my 2 bits.

OF COURSE mine works, I'm not using one of those mu-nuvian sites where lazy people dwell and they're too slack to fix what's wrong. Skackards.

No, the truly lazy stick with Blogspot. At least the munuvians put in a half-hearted effort.

Just type the stuff in you ole crank!

At home I have Firefox set to remember what I typed in forms, so when I start to type into each comment field, I get the previous info in a dropdown so I don't have to type it all.

The memory problem seems to have been better lately, but for a while it was really pissing me off. It's as if some sites can't read the cookie they left last time, or the cookie is set to expire with the browser session (close the browser, it goes away, but it's there if you return to the site while the same instance of the browser is running).
