no good deed goes unpunished

I'll bet these girls learned a lesson. I don't think it was a good one, but that's the way things go today.

You can be sued for anything.

Ms Young was correct something bad did happen to them. Self centered old bitch.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Absolutely unbelievable. I can't believe the judge even took the case. Actually I guess I can believe it with the way the judicial system is headed. We used to do the "drop the cookies on the porch and run" all the time for people in our neighborhood when I was growing up. Guess I'm lucky we didn't end up in court.

Both Young and the judge used poor judgement. Young should be shunned by her community and the judge should resign in shame.

Bullying fucking wimps. Why won't the government protect us from their depredations?

Sorry ass BITCH.

What was that about vapors, Acidman?

While I agree that the woman overreacted, and the girls were trying to do something nice, 10:30 at night is way too late to knock on anybody's door if you're not expected. Momma taught us as children that it's rude to call on the phone after 9:00 p.m., she'd have cringed at the idea of us banging on neighbors doors at 10:30.

The families had offered to pay Young's medical bills if she would agree to indemnify the families against future claims.

Young wouldn't sign the agreement. She said the families' apologies rang false and weren't delivered in person.

Shit, the last tiime a personal dilivery was made it almost made her have a fucking heart attack. Nah, what this is is some money-grubbing bitch that should not be given a dime.

Bullshit, I tell you, bullshit.

That judge (he does not rate a J) should be ashamed of himself! That woman is not out for anything but attention and money, all she can get. Hope she is shunned, but would then probably turn around and sue the girls again over that. Please just tell me she did not breed. Hope some good people take up a collection to pay the fine for the girls, and show them that there are good people in the world.

She will be suing the Post Office next, for daily harrassment. The nerve of the Postman coming up to her house every day! Could be the friggin Boogeyman or somethin.......

I wouldn't want to be that old woman come Halloween...I foresee lots of toilet paper and eggs coming her way LOL.

I'm sending money to the girls (their address is easy enough to find) and an encouraging note.

I'm tired of the world turning all mean, so I'm going to start handing out Kindness Cookies to people who punish acts of kindness, with a note that says, "As you eat this cookie, remember, generosity is sweet and makes the world a kinder place."

And every July 31st (the anniversary of the cookie debacle for hte girls), I'm mailing a btach of cookies to the courthouse to remind the judges to "sweeten their judgments with kindness". Not everyone who appears before them is a criminal.

I can imagine the mayhem being planned by the male friends of these two young ladies.

So, you bitter, old, litigious crone. You didn't like the cookies? Remember not to stamp too hard on that burning bag of dogshit on your doorstep.

In case anyone else would like to let judge Walker know what you think of his decision:

Douglas S. Walker (District Magistrate)
La Plata County Courthouse
1060 E. Second Avenue Room #106
Durango, Colorado 81301

I wouldn't shed a tear if she *did* drop dead at her next "panic attack".

One more reson to go directly from your car, to your house and refuse to make eye contact with your neighbors.
