kentucky boy

You've all seen the picture. Now, put a name with that face.

"I was just smokin' a cigarette and someone takes my picture and it all blows up," Miller told them Friday.

The picture, which appeared in the Times on Wednesday, was taken on the afternoon after Charlie Company entered Falluja under intense hostile fire.

Miller and his fellow platoon members had spent the day engaged in practically nonstop firefights, fending off snipers and attackers, and hadn't slept in more than 24 hours.

We grow 'em tough in the hills of eastern Kentucky.

(UPDATE: Wouldn't you know it. The picture offended anti-smokers. My aching ass...)

So..we can go to WAR and face death but damnit to hell if our soldiers enjoy a smoke..This shit is beyond stupid. We just left Peterson AFB in Colorado and the General there won't let a military person in uniform smoke ANYWHERE on base. Smoking at the clubs on base has long been a thing of the past too but ya know the military still likes to keep us "drinking", every function comes equipped with a keg but for goodness sake don't DIE of cancer..we can die of liver failure or ya know getting blown to bits on a battlefield but I guess having a nice set of lungs is important too..

I saw Miller's mom on TV a couple of days ago, and she said he didn't even smoke before he went to Iraq. The anti-smoking crowd should give this guy a break! He's under constant stress all day and all night. If he needs a cigarette to relax after kicking terrorist butt on my behalf, who the hell am I to argue. I have a feeling he will be receiving a lot of cartons of Marlboros from thankful Americans over the coming months. In fact, I may send him a carton myself.

My aching ass is right. Dump those anti-smokers' asses in Fallujah and make 'em spend 10 or 12 hours humpin their backpacks and duckin sniper's shots. How the hell are THEY gonna wind down? Have a friggin tofu sammich and a glass of wheatgrass juice? My aching ass, indeed!

I hate cigarettes, but no matter how many times I looked at that picture, it didn't make me sneeze or water up my eyes. And I've somehow resisted the subliminal siren call to start smoking myself. It's a miracle!

Hey anti-smoking asshats, why don't you just hop on an airplane and fly to Iraq and give that nasty marine a good talking too. I am sure he be more than happy to shove his rifle up your ass and pull the trigger. Fucking retard health nuts!!!!!!!!!
