November 08, 2004that's a rantThis guy's full of shit, but at least he's passionate. "Fuck the South," indeed. Comments
He must have just hated Clinton, eh? Posted by: Dean Esmay on November 8, 2004 01:19 AMSomeone should tell him two of the most influential founding fathers were southerners (Virginians). One wrote the Declaration of Independance and the other chaired the Contitutional Convention (oh yeah he also led the Revolutionary Army and won the war). What an ignorant fool. Posted by: Bob M on November 8, 2004 03:46 AMif you follow the link, you'll find that rant was written by neil young.... heh heh heh... christ, ive got to quit leaving comments at 3:30am Posted by: mr. helpful on November 8, 2004 06:34 AMYoung isn't American, assuming he didn't obtain U.S. citizenship and I missed the news. Posted by: Brett on November 8, 2004 08:03 AMI'm from Ohio and we feel the same way about those New England fuckwads was you do. Posted by: Ralph Gizzip on November 8, 2004 08:15 AMMan, I can almost feel the spittle hitting me in the face. I guess ignorant rednecks are not confined to the south. Posted by: James Old Guy on November 8, 2004 09:17 AMI love the bile. It's eating them up. Posted by: MM on November 8, 2004 09:52 AMJust more of that Democratic Tolerance and inclusion that those fine folks always brag about. Yep A good ol'fashion love rant from the left. Posted by: Jacko on November 8, 2004 09:58 AMMr. Nick Jehlen of Madison, Wisconsin, may be a brilliant Yankee, but he was dumb enought to put his real name in the WHOIS information for that website. Check him out. Posted by: Steve H. on November 8, 2004 09:58 AMI guess that fine example of a liberal asswipe doesn't realize that if Texas were to secede and become its own republic, the arrogant cocksuckers in New York and Massachusetts would freeze in the dark. Posted by: Fightin Tiger on November 8, 2004 10:58 AMPassionate wouldn't be my word of choice. More like, chaoticly insane. Each man to his own opinion . . . Posted by: Gil-galad on November 8, 2004 11:20 AMI just invited this person to the South for a "conversation." These guys are good for talking and not much else. I'd love for this guy to come to the South, anywhere in the South, and spout that shit off. He'll have his head handed to him in no time. Posted by: m2 on November 8, 2004 12:06 PMNever mind that the first state to tell King George to shove off was who? New York? Uh no, they were to chicken shit to vote on the declaration initially, and were the last to declare independence. The honor goes to whom? That would be South Carolina. Wow. Go figure. Twice. http://www.historyplace.com/civilwar/ Who were the leaders in the Succession from King George? Southerners. Virginia was the first colony to propose succession to the Continental Congress. Not Massachusetts. Not Rhode Island. That message was brought by whom? Richard Henry Lee, none other than the father of Robert E. Lee. http://www.bartleby.com/65/le/Lee-Henr.html These people understood oppression and the need for freedom from federal encroachment. I say nix the fed from ANYTHING that doesn’t have to do with protecting the individual states. If the local states want to tax their constituents to death with all these pork projects, that’s sounds fine with me. Get the Fed back to where it should be, Protection. FEMA? Screw that, let people buy insurance if they choose to live down here in FL in the swamps. The gravy train is over? Hey, good, now maybe the Fed will go away. Oh and you are paying for MY BRIDGES? What about that stupid f’d up project up there in Boston Replacing ‘Green Monster II’ that’s gone over budget so many times they’ve forgotten what the original budget was. I mean the project, originally estimated at I think $2,600,000,000, cost something like $14,600,000,000. And I don’t ever plan on going to Boston, so why do I have to pay for it? If people are stupid enough to wanna live near that many people, they can live with the consequences of that decision. And we can’t visit the Liberty bell and all that crap? I don’t wanna visit a busted old bell or some stupid rock on the beach anyway. I’d much rather the Blue Ridge. Heck I guess that’s one good use of federal money I’ve seen spent... Posted by: Buddy on November 8, 2004 12:19 PMactually brett...young IS american..he's from greendale..... Posted by: mr. helpful on November 8, 2004 01:32 PMI was going to post the same info that Steve H. posted. Posted by: Melissa on November 8, 2004 04:32 PMNEIL YOUNG IS FROM CANADA!!! HIS ALBUM IS GREENDALE AND ITS A FICTICIOUS PLACE IF I RECALL!!! HIS DAD WAS A WELL KNOWN SPORTS WRITER IN CANADA!! IM NOT SURE IF HE BECAME A CITIZEN BUT HE IS MOST DEFINATELY BORN AND RAISED IN CANADA. Posted by: Nate Grignol on November 8, 2004 04:55 PMer..nate..calm down dude. i know that neil young is a canuck and i know greendale is his latest cd and is fictitious.....i was attempting to be...er...ironic....or was it satiric? i get them terms confused... here's the foundation of my pathetic attempt to be humourous: 1. acidman links to a vitriolic website condeming the south. 2. from my history i know that neil young made disparaging remarks about the south a long time ago...remarks that were immortalized in the song "sweet home alabama" by lynrd skynrd. therefore i thought it might be funny to suggest neil young wrote the piece that acidman linked to. these are the kinds of things one thinks are funny at 3:30am. i figure people would make the connection immediately and chuckle. apparently noone made the connection...my bad. 3. brett jumps in with unrelated information about how neil young isnt even american which i assume means young couldnt have written and posted to that website. i decide to pretend that young is, in fact, from america and grew up in a place called greendale which is fictitious and is the title of his latest cd which is a vicious screed against all things americana. NOW i figure everyone will make the connection and the chuckles will begin. no one makes the connection....my bad again. 4. nate jumps in and helpfully reminds everyone that young isnt american and greendale is fictitous and he does so in caps which drives the point home with predictive force. like france, i surrender. Posted by: mr. helpful on November 8, 2004 05:18 PMIf it is any consolation, Mr. Helpful, I thought to was funny. Just Damn! Posted by: Dax Montana on November 8, 2004 05:25 PM"A southern man don't need him around anyhow" -Lynard Skynard Posted by: Fightin Tiger on November 8, 2004 05:56 PMSorry Mr. Helpfull I didnt realize I was typing in all caps until I posted it! Im at work and evrything has to be in all types so I apologize!!! I honestly wasnt trying to emphaticly drive my point home!!!!Im also sorry that I didnt pick up on the joke but forgive me its been a long day after a long weekend!!!! I used to be a big Neil Young fan but after reading some of his actual comments I dont see me being a fan anymore!!!! Posted by: NATE GRIGNOL on November 8, 2004 06:31 PMIf we go to war on the Dems,...I'm in Michigan...I'll gladly be an Insurgent!! Arrogant holier than thou Liberals! no worries there nate but thanks for the explanation anyways. it's all good. neil young's music is good to listen to...his thoughts and ideas about life and how to live it arent. Posted by: mr. helpful on November 8, 2004 09:07 PMWhy waste time with another Northern queer 's "outrage." Jehnlen: Say hello to Williw Horton for me, asshole. Posted by: horse with no-- on November 9, 2004 02:05 AMNot that I advocate slavery. It is contrary to Christian thought BUT Hmmm... FatCat thinks the North is finally receiving it's long overdue reward for waging war on the South. So sorry, you lying sacks of Yankee horse manure, you fought to keep us in the Union and NOW YOU ARE STUCK WITH US. Cry me a river!!! Posted by: FatCat on November 9, 2004 03:45 PMDear Southern Brothers, Please do not condem all of us northsiders on the idiocy of one, particularily on who resides in Moscow East. I mean, ya'all gave us Al Gore and we don't blame you. Indeed, if you take a lookee here.... http://www.uselectionatlas.org/USPRESIDENT/pe2004USA_sm.html .... you can see that that we up here is Wisconsin (Wess-consin to haughty left coasters) are closer to the norm than this twit in Mad-city attempts to portray. (Note: in that map blue=Bush, see explanation on homepage) Now if you want to talk fishin', well I guess that'll be ok. and btw, SRV is still my favorite southerner. When the Blue States depart the Union and the Civil War starts, I will gladly be a spy for the Red States up here in New York....I do enjoy busting all the liberals balls up here...not very sporting though....like shooting fish in a barrel..... Posted by: Oliver Box on November 9, 2004 08:12 PMFuck the yankee sunuvabitch. Pardon the french, ladies...and no offence meant to all the good folk of the red state north.... Still,...surprisingly enough, I ended up laughing over that article. The historical errors are too sophomoric to be the result of anything but a closed-minded Hee Hee and God Bless Dixie!
