i am not alone

I just KNEW IT!!! somebody else has been to the midnight screenings of "Rocky Horror Picture Show" with a squirt gun, rice, toast and an umbrella. Yeah... I yelled "asshole, slut, asshole, slut," too.

If you've never done that, you haven't lived a full life.

I've gone a number of times, done the dress-up thing, gone to a live performance, and even own the movie and soundtrack. I can't believe there are really people who haven't particpated! Wussies!

And the best part is throwing things at the screen.... People who don't like themselves enough to have that kind of fun should be shot.

I have the movie, and although I watch it every now and then it just isn't the same as seeing it with an audiance. To truly experience Rocky Horror, you have to see it at a midnight showing in a theater full to capacity.

They have to allow props too. If the theater doesn't allow toast, rice and squirt guns, walk away.

Absolutely!

I was a projectionist in Chapel Hill, NC during the seventies. We had midnight showings of RHPS on the weekends. I ran that crafty bugger a hundred times.

You really get to know a movie that way. Rocky Horror is a teriffic first hour that falls off badly in the second half.

The crowds were great.

Lost my Rocky Horror Picture Show cherry in 1980 in Jacksonville, Florida. Used to go on Friday night in Great Mistakes, IL with a bunch of fellow squids while I was going to school up there. My wife made costumes for some of the regulars.

It's more fun when it's shown to a bunch of unsuspecting hard core rednecks. Most throw a tantrum and walk out.

You need a roll of toilet paper to throw as well.

"Great Scott!"

I've never been to one...seen the movie by renting it but have never had the whole experience...I guess I'm missin' out.

I work at a horror film convention each year and our midnight screening of Rocky Horror, with a live performance by a Philadelphia area acting troupe going on at the same time is always a big hit. It has a tendency to go beyond an "R" rating at times (like when the girl playing Magenta on stage just couldn't manage to keep the twins confined in her costume and just decided "the hell with it" and carried on, much to everyone's delight). It's amazing the range of ages of the people who know all the lines, when to interact. Nothin' like it...

Does it count that I had a Monday Pun on Denny's site that used "Rocky Horror Picture Show" as the payoff?

I truly felt like I hadn't lived until I went to a midnight screening.
I threw the rice, the toilet paper and I danced in the aisles.
It was awesome and I can't wait to do it again!
