Gut Rumbles

June 25, 2004

I had to go back and read this article twice before I could grasp what it really means.

Israeli-made bullets bought by the U.S. Army to plug a shortfall should be used for training only, not to fight Muslim guerrillas in Iraq and Afghanistan, U.S. lawmakers told Army generals on Thursday. Since the Army has other stockpiled ammunition, "by no means, under any circumstances should a round (from Israel) be utilized," said Rep. Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii, the top Democrat on a House of Representatives Armed Services subcommittee with jurisdiction over land forces.

"By no means, under any circumstances," huh? Is this illustrious representative suggesting that we tell our troops to learn to throw rocks or just take their deaths bravely if all we have for ammo is Israeli rounds? I don't know about YOU, but if I'm being shot at, I'll fire back with whatever I can lay my hands on, and I don't give a shit who made it as long as it works.

Although the Army should not have to worry about "political correctness," Abercrombie was making a valid point about the propaganda pitfalls of using Israeli rounds in the U.S.-declared war on terror, said Rep. Curt Weldon, the Pennsylvania Republican who chairs the subcommittee on tactical air and land forces.

"There's a sensitivity that I think all of us recognize," Weldon told the Army witnesses, including Maj. Gen. Buford Blount, who led the U.S. Third Infantry Division that captured Baghdad in April 2003.

This bullshit just reinforces a point I've made before. We've ALREADY been too "sensitive" in fighting this war, and the forces of political correctness are still crawling out of the woodwork advocating even more sensitivity. The only people they are helping are the enemy.

You want sensitivity? I would drop leaflets, announce messages over loudspeakers and warn every swinging dick "insurgent" in the world that when we dispatch them, we INTEND to use Jewish bullets on their asses. In fact, we believe that any Muslim killed by a Jewish bullet relinquishes his place in the afterlife and somebody else gets his 72 virgins. That's why we like Jewish bullets so much. Then, I would order more Jewish bullets. Let the superstitious pricks think about THAT idea for a while.

When we start worrying about political correctness on the battlefield, we're doomed.

And if we could dip the rounds in "pork fat"...or am I being unnecesarily vicious here...?

No Mike -- not to the Islamofascist at least.

The pig might not care for it though...

Posted by: McGehee on June 25, 2004 11:46 AM

The pig will just have to "suck it up"...we're all in this fight together, and everybody's got to do their part!

Posted by: Mike on June 25, 2004 12:19 PM

You've got it al wrong. What we need to do is establish a cabinet level department of sensitivity to handle all the sensitivity for the country so the rest of us unfeeling brutes can get on with it. Hillary and Gore as co-chairs.

...the top Democrat...

Really, what more needs to be said?

i hope somebody dies and leaves you in charge.

I have never heard anything so absolutely insane in my entire life.

We're there to kill these fucks, and we're worried that we'll offend them?

Dip them in pig fat AND menstrual blood. Send the scumbags into a frenzy when one of their fellow subhumans gets offed.

Posted by: rightisright on June 25, 2004 04:16 PM

lets just hope that the appropriately "sensitive" soldiers that agree with this BS are the ones assigned to guard the congressional committee sent to check on the obedience of the congressional directives...

i have a different read on this... i don't think the US is trying to be sensitive to the muslims at all on this issue, rather the US is shielding Israel from being accused of participating in the war by trying to side-step the visual of US military killing muslims on behalf of Israel (by using israeli-made ammo).
my $0.02... (and that and a nickel will get you on the subway).

Posted by: dvl on June 25, 2004 05:06 PM all have it wrong. Since this is a serious subject...

What they are doing is protecting Americans and the citizens of the other countries who are helping us in our efforts.

What we don't need is to draw the rest of the psychotic radicals out of hiding by using Israeli rounds to kill Muslims. This isn't about Irael and it isn't about offending the crazies who are seem to take pleasure is hearing innocent people plead for their lives before they cut their heads off. This is about fighting a smart war -- which I must say has not been the tactic used so far.

It's the same reasoning -- besides the humanitarian aspects -- behind NOT torturing the prisoners. It causes people to get their heads cut off -- people who are there to help get the phones back online....not fight the war.

So, what they say is, don't use those rounds in action. By doing this, we are sure NOT to run out of good old American lead -- which we can use just as accurately to kill the enemy.

While this administration may not have been able to get our men and women enough flak jackets, I feel strongly that those guys walking the streets are not without ammunition.

Of course, the whole thing is moot anyhow. Now that the story has broken that the US forces have been buying Israeli ammo, any bullets they have will instantly be seen as being Israeli-made, whether they are or not.

You think these superstitious twits have the ability to tell whether a bullet fired at them is Israeli or American? They don't. They will simply declare them ALL Israeli-made, and they will generate the exact same propaganda. All Rep. Abercombie's announcement has done is give the conspiracy theorists a previously overlooked propaganda inspiration, and given all our Palestinian-loving "allies" an excuse to boycott another fine Israeli product.

It may be that even the "good guy" ragheads
that are nominally on our side, (their OWN side,) would freak over the Jew Bullets.

Fine, send them here and I will buy them, and our guys can have my Winchesters.

I don't think Abu's Laughing Penis People Mound Prison led to the beheadings.
That was going to happen anyway. They think cutting off a few heads will weaken our will to fight. (Boy Howdy aren't they wrong on That One?)
And we want to bring the crazies out so that we can send them to Allah. They just changed the law over there so that foreigners can carry firearms, the better to dispatch the islamo-terror freaks.

I dunno about you, but I have a hard time taking a guy named "Abercrombie" seriously. He sounds like he is somewhere half-naked, posing for fashion magazines. I also have a hard time taking the representative from Hawaii seriously. And a hard time listening to someone say that we can't shoot bullets that we bought. Fuck 'em.

Posted by: Dz on June 26, 2004 08:41 PM

In an odd sort of way I agree with them, I don't want these crazies that we cap thinking that it was anybody but the US that killed their ass. That is unless the Israeli bullets did cool things like go around corners but the excuse not to use them when we have a shortfall is sort of silly.
