I can't see the point of this argument. Sweet Bejus! Anybody who believes that America would be better off with an International Criminal Court deciding our affairs has clabber for brains.

Just look at the United Nations, for crying out loud. That gaseous, corrupt organization is a walking fuck-up in everything it touches. It's a joke and a farce, staffed by clowns, charlatans and poseurs. You want to put such incompetent, anti-American asswipes in charge of our affairs? I don't trust MY OWN government, let alone a bunch of holier-than-thou people who hate our guts because they envy what we have in this country.

The United States is Tall Dog in the world today. Down South, what we call a "Tall Dog" is the leader of the pack, the biggest, meanest dog in the bunch, who takes no shit off any other dog. The Tall Dog can be quiet and gentle, but the other dogs know that he's capable of kicking serious ass any time he wants to. They fear and respect him.

I believe that the United States should cultivate fear and respect from the rest of the world. I don't give a shit whether France or Belgium likes us. Who the hell are they anyway? Besides, it's not a Tall Dog's job to make friends. Tall Dog is IN CHARGE and that sometimes means pissing off a few lesser dogs if they need to be reminded of that fact. Tall Dog NEVER lays on his back and whimpers when threatened.

Tall Dog doesn't NEED petting, but he likes the gesture and he shows proper appreciation when it comes. But if you get in his face, he's coming at you fang and claw. That's what Tall Dogs do.

And the only way a Tall Dog STOPS being Tall Dog is to grow old, feeble and blind. Then, another dog steps up to take his place. That's just the way Mother Nature works.

Any Tall Dog who MAKES HIMSELF old, feeble and blind by signing away his status to some fucking committee of bureaucrats who WANT to see him fall never should have been Tall Dog to begin with.

You mean all of the world, or just the part that we don't like?

Your whole premise of cultivating fear is absurd. Hitler inspired fear, Mao inspired fear, along with Stalin, Pol Pot and every other tyrant that ever walked the face of the earth.

Respect is a different story. Respect is earned and a worthy goal, however fear and respect are mutally exclusive. I've never respected anyone I was afraid of, those who seek to inspire fear as a means to an end are not worthy of respect.. There is a difference between your quaint notion of being a 'Tall Dog' and being a bully. Sure, I've been afraid of people and did what they wanted because i was unwilling to face the consequences of acting otherwise -- on the other hand, as soon as I got the chance to stab them in the back I took it. I've followed instructions based of respect for a superior, that decision was a permanent one based in loyalty. Which would you prefer?

I hate to break it to you, but we are not in charge of anything outside our borders and that is just the way it should be. As far as an international courts or the UN goes, if we are going to play on the world stage there is no reason we shouldn't play by the same rules as everyone else. Otherwise, we put ourselves above the law.

Someone else said it better: " We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..."

I don't see anything in that that says "all men (providing they are located between Maine and California, with the exception of Hawaii and Alaska)..."

Liberty is a tough one when your seeking to inspire fear. Fear and terror are synonyms (well, pretty close) and I can think of a few groups that seek their goals using terror. Those are not groups I want to see my people emulate.

I guess DT just can't figure out the difference between killing innocents and showing strenth so that international bullies know enough not to fool with us, or with others that are under our "umbrella" of friendship.
Or that when one has wealth, other bullies and creeps will try to take it by force if you let them. An international court would just be the first step in the taking of our sovereignty and wealth. And it would be a grave danger to our citizens in foreign lands. Duh!

Take off the tinfoil hat Determined, it's
affecting your thought process. And go to the bookstore and get a synonym need it.
