my kind of attitude

I don't want to live forever. Think of how boring eternal life would get after a while. I believe that I share this philosophy:

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming,

"WOW! What a ride!"

I want the last check I write to bounce like a super-ball and I want to look really dead when I'm finally laid out. That's my goal, and working hard on that project.

At my godmothers funeral a few months back my cousin got up and said a few words. On your tombstone they put the date of your birth and the date of your death. That little dash in between is your whole life. How much life are you living in your dash. Made sence to me.

Forever might get boring after a while, but threescore and ten is nowhere near long enough. I'd like to live until I decide it's not worth the bother anymore, whether that be at 60 or 60,000.

Read the book "My First 2,000 Years." It's about a guy who is CURSED with everlasting life by Christ on the cross.

It's an interesting story.

I'll look it up. Though the whole "long life is a curse" business always sounded like sour grapes to me. And wealth brings it's own problems too, but that won't stop me from claiming the lotto if I ever win:-)

Interpreter, n.:
One who enables two persons of different languages to
understand each other by repeating to each what it would have been to
the interpreter's advantage for the other to have said.
