this offends me
What the fuck? We shall NOT gather at the river?
I'm an athiest. I don't believe in God. But I also have no problem whatsoever with people who DO believe and practice their religion every day, as long as they don't try to FORCE ME to participate.
Religion has been a great comfort to my mama and the church has been her lifeline since my father died. Now that she's sick with cancer and undergoing a lot of treatment, people from the church call her every day to check on how she's doing. That's a good thing. That's what churches and good, Christian people SHOULD do.
And people, including unbelievers such as myself, should get out of their way and allow them to do it. I'll rant and rave about a lot of things, but I'm a TRUE BELIEVER when it comes to individual freedom. Worship, pray and go baptize people in the river if you want to. As long as nobody is trying to haul MY Cracker ass down there and dunk me when I don't want to be dunked, I'll respect their beliefs and their freedom to exercise them.
There's plenty of room in this world for everybody, as long as we don't deliberately step on other people's toes.
Stretching the truth a bit, aren't you?
Last time you mentioned your mothers cancer your daughter commented that the cancer was gone. You never corrected that and now your dragging it out again.
Are you really this desperate for attention?
I continue to visit here because It's the only thing I really have to do. As I was looking back in your comments on previous posts I noticed how your daughter mentioned that your mother's cancer was in remission. Since I spend my life indoors and have no friends or family, I don't know or have ever known anyone with cancer so I wouldn't have the slightest clue about the follow up treatments cancer patients in remission have to still go through. Please excuse my ignorance. I apologize for acting like a troll. Like I said, I'm miserable, depressed and have no one in life to let my emotions out on, so I wasted precious net space by mouthing my patheticness in your comments. Your blog is actually quite good. My apologies again.
I'm a big believer in the separation of church and state. Generally, it's the state that is trying to force Christianity (a of which I'm a member) on the populous. But cases like this are just as important. The state doesn't have the right to stop individuals from practicing their religion in public places.
Every one of those folks have a right to use that public space, as long as the state doesn't give them exclusive use of the space.
I hope that preacher fights, and wins.
I got dunked when i was a kid and for years and years i was pissed off about it. then i learned that i was dunked at a prison where my uncle was a guard. now i picture my crazy old dearly departed uncle and his shotgun and smile.
You have a more "christian" attitude than many of the hypocrites I know who go to church every time the doors are open. But as the Bible says, the word of God is written on all men's hearts. Some of us just read better than others.
Let me get this straight, it's not ok to dunk someone in America but it IS OK to play a fucking' Arab religious call to prayer.
I don't get it?
Ralphie-- if being "in remission" means being too weak to undergo any more surgery or chemo treatments, my mama is indeed in remission.
I suspect that she'll be "in remission" until the day she dies. She's reached the point where there isn't much else she can do, but that little old bald-headed fat woman STILL has more balls than most men I know.
