May 12, 2004
I believe that I promised to call someone this morning, but I didn't do it. I was busy packing for my trip and trying to clean up my kitchen so that I won't have maggots crawling all over the ceiling when I get back home. (I don't know how long I'll be gone)
Please forgive me, darlin.' Duty called.
I'm taking one small bag and my laptop with me on an open-ended trip. I don't know when I'll be back. If I don't like where I find myself staying (although I believe that I will), I'll just pick up and go elsewhere.
I've been working since I was twelve years old. Everything I worked FOR all of my life fell apart on me in July of 2001. Now, I have a shitpot full of money and time on my hands. I'm going out to see the world. I'm still young enough to enjoy it and old enough to appreciate the experience.
This will be the last entry you see here for a while, unless I find a good internet connection or a friendly cafe where I'm headed. I'll write, but I probably won't post anything. Thanks to everyone who made GUT RUMBLES so much fun.
I have enjoyed your writing. Sorry to see you take a break. Write about your adventures.
I can relate to your pain.. Don't lose contact with Quinton, he needs you more than you need him, whether SHE realizes it or not.

Make up for all the graveyard shifts and for all the times you watched the geese fly over without shooting them and for not busting someone who deserved it in the snot locker. Have a ball!
Best of luck to ya! Enjoy yourself - rest dem weary bones. I look forward to your roaring back, devouring the minions who now nip at your heels.
Stay safe, and watch your back. Traveling with an American passport can be dangerous these days.
But stay away from the ganja this time, OK?
You don't write so well when you're fucked up on mind-altering substances.
Godspeed Rob - should you journey to the Chicago area you have a temporary home here.
Thanks for all the wonderful and insightful posts. Death to the trolls.
There a line from a song that goes 'old dogs, young children and watermelon wine' enjoy the vacation.
Fair winds and following seas. May your sense of wonder be a constant companion., and the ladies along the way , find your wit and wisdom disarming.
I haven't been reading you long, but I likes what i see! Have a good trip, live life to the fullest.
Keep the shiny side up and the tires on the road. Mind the wind. Watch for black ice. Check the oil now and then. Drop a line sometimes and for sure when you turn around and head for home. Safe trip.
If you need a place to stay, call me: (717) 732-1675. My dog's been fixed, so you can fuck her hairy ass all you want.
Bon Voyage Rob. Enjoy your trip!
