pussification--but woman be strong

MIT biology professor Nancy Hopkins. . . "felt I was going to be sick. My heart was pounding and my breath was shallow." And, "I just couldn't breathe because this kind of bias makes me physically ill." She said that if she had not bolted from the room, "I would've either blacked out or thrown up." Is this the fruit of feminism? A woman at the peak of the academic pyramid becomes theatrically flurried by an unwelcome idea and, like a Victorian maiden exposed to male coarseness, suffers the vapors and collapses on the drawing room carpet in a heap of crinolines until revived by smelling salts and the offending brute's contrition?

(Stolen from a George Will column in the Washington Post, where I have to register to link, and you already know how I feel about doing THAT.)

That was Fainting Daisy's reaction to someone suggesting the POSSIBILITY that men and wimmen may think differently right out of the box. She also... (OHMYGOD!!! WHERE HAVE I HEARD THIS BEFORE???)... began to hyperventilate and get the vapors at the very thought... BWHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! I fucking TOLD YOU SO!!! I don't need to make this shit up. You wimmen DO IT, all the time.

This is a woman in high academia, too. But she's still a hormone-driven bag of emotional water. Breathless. Emotional. Hyperventilating. About to pass out or piss her pants. Physically ill. Unable to cope.

You GO, girl!!! Hyperventilate! Get the vapors! Become emotionally overwrought! SHOW ME what you've got!!!

And once again, I was right. I rest my case.

we're not all like that you know.

I for one think that the moron missed out on a classic opportunity to prove that women are equally capable in the sciences. SO what if the sexes think differently, act differently, etc? I for one think that the differences actually contribute positively to problem solving etc.

This bimbo just needs to stick to picking out china patterns and drapes!!!

It's not a WOMAN thing! This is a result of cultural diversification....to put it nicely.

You can bet whatever pussified vegan of a man she went home to had the same reaction.

"We're not all like that." True. But there's damn sure enough hypervenitlators out there to embarass the rest of you.

And Key... "That's not a WOMAN thing" is bullshit and you know it. Men behave that way in public all the time yeah. yeah, yada, yada,

Bejus. Even homosexual vegan interior decorators have more dignity than THAT.

Oh girls, quit proving the point.

Don't hold that bint up as an example of "womanhood". Hopkins wouldn't know how to be a real woman if her life depended on it. Hell, the strongest woman I know will be the first one to tell you that men and women are different. Strength lies not in trying to deny that fact, but accepting it and realizing just what you can do.

And as for the fainting twitterhead Hopkins, she works in "high academia"! There's no faster way for me to put you into the "useless bucket of shit" category than to tell me that you work in "high academia". Because all that tells me is that you have so little knowledge, so few skills, and so little understanding of the real world that you can't do anything else BUT be in "high academia"!

That Hopkins woman reminds me of a slogan on a men's T-shirt I saw somewhere:

"So you're a feminist? Awww, that's cute!"

Many women embarrass me. Diane Feinstein for example, and the bitch dogging Rice...

There's a "type" of people who get vapors about such issues, and the "type" isn't exclusive to women...and you know it, but you're having fun with this.

Howard Dean is one dignified sumbitch ain't he? And he's not even a wimpy vegan whiner, yet there are plenty in that camp as well...

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me! I will not apologize for the 1880's (yes not a typo) fainting, handkerchief fluttering female........but has no one else witnessed that pink-tie wearing, close-to-sobbing, panty-waste Tom Daschle....and his hyperventilating on the floor of the Senate. Outraged, the poor thing was just suffering shock and outrage....

Ye gods, it's not a male-female thing...it's a red state vs blue state thing!!

Let's get a grip here.

I'd make a comment...if I could stop laughing. It's almost as funny as this guy.

Hmm, I could rant but what's the point? I might just be accused of having the 'vapors'; something this female engineer has never had. But you are right, some females are dumber than hell. But then, there are quite a few males that are pretty low on the IQ stick also.

With professors like Nancy Hopkins and Noam Chomsky, MIT has just gone to hell.
