moon pies

The truth is, I never liked moon pies, either. But I DID like RC Cola.

Comments

I'll pass on a Moon Pie but not a Goo Goo Cluster...whenever my family in Florida would drive up to Georgia for a visit they would bring cases of RC because all my granny ever had at her house was Pepsi Cola...they just couldn't drink it.....RC was okay as I remember just a little flat tasting.

Waddaya mean "did"? I drink RC today. Beats the hell out of Coke or (bleah) Pepsi.

Born and Bred in NE Illinois. :-)

As soon as RC came out in the 16 oz bottle, another cola named Topp Cola came out with a drink like RC and the same size. It was good and tasted like coke. I was born and raised next door to the coke plant in Savannah Ga on Washington Square and we got cokes for a nickel up till the late 50's. They then went up to six cents. We almost cried over that extra penny.

That extra cent was a tax. One penny a six ounce bottle. We had to put a nickel and a penny in the coke machine (the one where you had to slide up the door to get the next coke to appear in its little hole). A Snickers was a nickel, too.

Grew up on Coke. Georgian all my life, so far ,anyway. Have to pick up RC next time I go to store. Prefer Dr. Pepper.

Ah, the days of the nickel Coke! I worked at a Gulf servce station where we had daily contests. Turn over our Coke bottles to see whose bottler was farthest away. That lucky duck got his Coke free. Some soda vendors had doors that opened to reveal a row of bottle caps. With a handy church key, one could open each bottle without buying. With a Dixie Cup in one hand, you could enjoy contents of each bottle. Larceny at heart!
