Here's an example of a policeman who doesn't need to be a cop. Hell, the Boy Scouts would drum his heartless ass out of THEIR ranks for treating an old lady so callously instead of HELPING her cross the street. Rotten prick.
LOS ANGELES (AP) - An 82-year-old woman received a $114 ticket for taking too long to cross a street. Mayvis Coyle said she began shuffling with her cane across Foothill Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley when the light was green, but was unable to make it to the other side before it turned red.
She said the motorcycle officer who ticketed her on Feb. 15 told her she was obstructing traffic.
Boy, that's the way to protect and to serve. Rotten prick.
I try to respect cops because they have a dirty job and they routinely put their lives on the line so that I can sleep safely in my bed at night. But I've got to admit--- some cops are rotten pricks. They like the uniform, the gun and the power to intimidate citizens FAR too much.
In the schoolyard, they were the bullies who picked on smaller kids. Now they get paid for doing the same thing to adults. And I really like this reaction to the incident:
Los Angeles police Sgt. Mike Zaboski of the Valley Traffic Division said police are cracking down on people who improperly cross streets because pedestrian accidents are above normal. He said he could not comment on Coyle's ticket other than to say that it is her word against that of the citing officer, identified only as Officer Kelly.
Don't you just LOVE it? It's "her word against his," and everybody knows that cops don't lie, especially not rotten pricks who ticket 82 year-old wimmen for not crossing the street in a full sprint. No, I'm certain that the cop was just doing his job and Mayvis is lying her withered shanks off about what REALLY happened.
It's just a good thing that the rotten prick didn't pull such shit on my 94 year-old grandmother. He would have had to add the charge of assault on a police officer after she beat the shit out of him with her purse for hassling a helpless old lady.
Woulda served him right, too.
I have great respect for the cops who work dangerous areas. I have a friend who is NYPD in a shitty precinct.
But the fact is many cops DON'T work dangerous crime-ridden areas. And to get some excitement while exercising their authority, they act like assholes toward decent citizens. Those cocksuckers get no respect from me. Sadly, that attitude has landed my ass in the clink more than once.
One of my majors was Administration of Justice. I could pick out the ones who were going to be prick-cops after talking to them for 30 seconds.
They were major control freaks who Freud would have had a field-day with... Needless to say, I didn't choose Law Enforcement as a career. WAY too many assholes.
I picked up this item yesterday also. What a prick. A teenager can't make it across that street without running. Like the cop didn't notice that?
It's like I always say, give a petty little man, a little power and he turns into a gigantic asshole.
No offense intended to the good LEOs out there.
I can't tar all cops with the same brush but the low life that did this in a sub-human. Fire the bastard or if that's not possible by some stupid union rule, then transfer him the garbage pickup. That is possible and the union can't stop it. Half of the high paid civil service workers nation wide should be transfered to the maintenance crew. Can't fire them or cut their pay but can have the highest paid janitors in the country.
people don't become assholes after they become cops, they were assholes to start with.the job just lets everybody know it..
I agree with billfry......there needs to be some way to filter these ass-holes out of the "academies"......people like this guy should never be in any kind of job dealing with people.
In general I respect the hell out of cops because if I had to deal with the subhuman pricks they do every day I'd be going through a lot of ammo and digging a lot of holes out in national parks.
That said, this guy is a prick and a half. Speaking of pricks, I just paid my $75 ticket off from this incident today. Many of my friends kept ragging on me to fight it, but it boils down to the "the cop's word against mine" bullshit. Grrrr.... fuckers!
Just out of curiousity, when was the last time anyone has seen "to protect and to serve" on the side of a squad car? Up North here, you just won't see that.
It happened in California, and LA at that. Why the surprise?
About the only cop demographic I've found to be universally cool and easy to get along with (e.g., they give warnings, or disapproving glares when one does something stupid, rather than tickets) are bike cops.
Naturally, this asshole had to go and ruin that otherwise accurate theory.
