February 10, 2006i've seen it myselfI think I wrote about a scene similar to this one that I witnessed in the Atlanta airport about a year ago. I can't find the post in my archives, (I did find this) but I remember what I saw that day: a bunch of our military guys and gals headed off to Iraq and receiving a standing ovation from the crowd as they passed through the airport. That was a sight sure to chill the marrow in a leftist, surrender-monkey's bones. In that busy airport, people stopped whatever they were doing and cheered our troops. We've come a long way from the Vietnam War, whether some people refuse to admit it or not. Comments
I posted it on my blog last year. We had one of our employees oversease for a year, as well as a co-worker's young son. http://joniverse.com/archives/welcome-back Feel free to download the movie file. My brother had sent it to me with the note, "We've got to get our kids home." Posted by: joni on February 11, 2006 01:42 AMJoni, that link led me to a "No posts matched your criteria" error page. Thanks for your patience! http://joniverse.com/media/thank-you.wmv Posted by: Joni on February 11, 2006 01:09 PMI was Googling to get some background on this Anheuser-Busch ad campaign. And found this. Of course, anyone can twist anything around to suit his or her own purpose. But I think this blogger completely misses the point of the ad. (Or maybe not.) Bear in mind, this is just over a year old, posted right after the ad first appeared. Support Without Being There Is Guilt Before It Is Patriotism Make of it what you will.
