places I've been

I found a link to this site and decided to make the above map. I've been in 26 of the 50 United States. I hope to see 'em all before I die.

Except for Massachusetts. I don't wanna go there.

(Link to the link found here)

Have you ever seen grass? Then don't bother with Oklahoma.

I reccomend colorado though.

So stand across the border from Mass and take a leak on it. You haven't crossed in, but you've given proper salute...

Awesome, the A-man has been to my home state of Mississippi.

Posted by: Adam Lawson on January 21, 2006 09:43 PM

Yes, Adam. I spent a night in Vicksburg, right on the bluff overlooking The Big Muddy, and ate some damn good barbecue there.

The only ones I haven't visited are North Dakota and Connecticut. Never spent the night in Delaware or New Jersey, though.

You can check off Massachusetts without endangering your blood pressure -- just don't go to the eastern part. Visit upstate NY, near Albany, and go across the mountains into Western Mass. They talk a little funny there :-) and a Georgia boy probably wouldn't want to move, but they're pickup-driving, deer-hunting good ol' boys just the same. (Yes, I know. It surprised me, too.)

You know you have a place to stay in Wisconsin. Just make sure it's the end of July, beginning of August or you will freeze your scrawny ass off.

What ass? Livey, you know I ain't got no ass---just withered shanks!

Posted by: Acidman on January 21, 2006 10:14 PM

oh man, you've never been to the tri-state area?! i guess i could see how jankees might irritate a man.

Got you beat by a mile. I've been in 45 of 50. Need MA, VT, NH, ME and AK. Most of those states come from driving cross country six times. I always took a different route every time.

Don't bother w/ MD-it just turned into MA's sister.

No Acidman in the Big Apple? Or Maine? And don't miss New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado.

Hell, you can't die yet. You have some travelling to do!

Posted by: robert on January 22, 2006 05:47 AM

If just driving through counts, then I've got all but North Dakota, Vermont, and Alaska.

I lived in Maine for a few months, and it was an interesting contrast. Moose hunters and lobstermen who live there through the cold winter versus New Yorkers and Bostonians who just came up for the summer and colorful fall. For the Bostonians, the Mainers have coined their own word: they call them Massholes!

You really need to check out Pennsylvania. Great fishing, hunting, food, and awesome scenery that rivals any i`ve seen in our great country. Oh yeah the people are down to earth regular folks too. Come on up if you get the chance!

Posted by: Arathorn on January 22, 2006 09:23 AM

Amen to the observation about Maryland!

Posted by: Jay on January 22, 2006 10:11 AM

Just because the state is run by far-left loons doesn't mean there's nothing worth seeing in Massachusetts, Rob.

Posted by: Rick C on January 22, 2006 11:09 AM

Awesome thanks for the acid bath. :-) Was wondering what was up.

Posted by: Alli on January 22, 2006 02:12 PM

Bullshit. You'd love Cape Cod in Mass. Believe me. Also I'm assuming you went out of your way to miss Oregon? Nice coastal country up there too.

Posted by: Matty on January 22, 2006 04:02 PM

Now I can understand why you'd skip kansas because I've lived here all my life and there isn't much. It does have certain beauty to it but its an acquired one. But colorado? I know everyone and their dog has been there but it really is long as you avoid the hippie commune that is boulder.

Amen to the statement about Massachusetts!
My father and I went through the New England states on our Harleys a couple of years ago. I have to say that Massachusetts was the bunghole of the lot!! We couldn't get out of there quick enough for our tastes.

Posted by: Hunter521 on January 23, 2006 01:47 PM

Been to all except N. Dakota, Hawaii and Alaska. Have no desire to ever go to Hawaii, so I'll probably end up with 49.

Mass is beautiful, just don't carry any of those guns you don't own into the state -- mind you, that's true of NJ, NY, CT, and RI as well.

Damn Yankees.

"Except for Massachusetts. I don't wanna go there."

Bite me. You make it here, I'll make it a point to show you that there *ARE* rednecks in the Volksrepublik of MA.

Even ones that can shoot guns...
