May 14, 2005non-existent gunsHave you ever seen a double-shot .410 derringer? Neither have I. If such a weapon DID exist, I would like to have one. If you loaded it with bird-shot, it would make an excellent snake-gun. Plus If I ever find one of those, I'm going to buy it. Comments
Here you go: http://www.amderringer.com/m1.html Posted by: Rand on May 14, 2005 12:25 PMLess potent perhaps, but you may agree with Kim's assessment of this little piece's potential: I enjoy your blog a lot! Posted by: Rand on May 14, 2005 12:35 PMI had a girlfriend one time that had one, and I think hers would also shoot 44 mag shells too.. She tried to shoot her ex husband in an Oklahoma bar with it, and a friend took it away from her.. It was too heavy to make a good boot gun, and it was too bulky to make a good hide-in-your pocket gun or shoulder holster gun.. Would make an excellent glove-box gun or tackle-box gun.. Would make short-work out of that pesky turtle that keeps stealin your bait, or that dreaded car-jacker.. If I remember right, she paid less than a hundred bucks for it too.. Even after a tad bit of gunsmith tweakin on it.. Posted by: Wild Bill on May 14, 2005 02:02 PMSomeone does make one...my best friend's Dad has one. He keeps it loaded with 00 buckshot which is like three or four pellets stacked in series. Pretty cool. Posted by: Cowboy Blob on May 14, 2005 04:17 PMtexas defender or cowboy defender... i think you can change out the barrels on them to shoot .45's also... Posted by: oakleytexas on May 14, 2005 06:59 PMHere's a link to one for a 150 bucks.... Sound cheap considering today's gun prices, but this one ain't real purty, so mebbe that's why.. http://gunsouth.tripod.com/deringers/image002.htm Posted by: Andy on May 14, 2005 08:23 PMRob - Google "American Derringer Model 4" and you'll find a lovely little over/under .410+.45 cal. Not exactly what you're looking for but close. Scroll down 3 articles to Kim DuToit' s article and photo. Hope this helps. Terry Posted by: Terry Reynolds on May 14, 2005 09:53 PMSlugs? Get yourself a box of .45 long colt hollowpoints. One of those over a BB load .410 shell will ruin just about anything's day. Posted by: Mr. Lion on May 14, 2005 10:59 PMThe "Thunder Five" is a 5-shot revolver that takes both .45LC and .410 shotgun shells. Not the derringer you asked about but still a cool and awesome weapon. http://www.thunder5.com/docs1.html Posted by: Joe Klehe on May 14, 2005 11:20 PMPretty sure I saw a 45-70 derringer some years Here's another link to those non existent guns of the kind you've mentioned. i have a texas defender in 357mag +1 in 44mag when you shoot the 44 stand up hold on and prepare Posted by: sam caines on October 1, 2005 10:14 PMa friend of mine has a side by side 410/45LC derringer that will fire both barrels or just one but i'm not sure who makes it. i saw one at a local gun shop recently for $145.00 Posted by: joe on October 19, 2005 03:40 AMPost a comment
