non-existent guns

Have you ever seen a double-shot .410 derringer? Neither have I. If such a weapon DID exist, I would like to have one. If you loaded it with bird-shot, it would make an excellent snake-gun. Plus it's it would be small enough to carry in your pocket, and if you loaded it with slugs, it might make a pretty good close-quarters sit-a-goblin-on-his-ass gun.

If I ever find one of those, I'm going to buy it.

Less potent perhaps, but you may agree with Kim's assessment of this little piece's potential:

I enjoy your blog a lot!

I had a girlfriend one time that had one, and I think hers would also shoot 44 mag shells too.. She tried to shoot her ex husband in an Oklahoma bar with it, and a friend took it away from her.. It was too heavy to make a good boot gun, and it was too bulky to make a good hide-in-your pocket gun or shoulder holster gun.. Would make an excellent glove-box gun or tackle-box gun.. Would make short-work out of that pesky turtle that keeps stealin your bait, or that dreaded car-jacker.. If I remember right, she paid less than a hundred bucks for it too.. Even after a tad bit of gunsmith tweakin on it..

Someone does make one...my best friend's Dad has one. He keeps it loaded with 00 buckshot which is like three or four pellets stacked in series. Pretty cool.

Rob - Google "American Derringer Model 4" and you'll find a lovely little over/under .410+.45 cal. Not exactly what you're looking for but close. Scroll down 3 articles to Kim DuToit' s article and photo. Hope this helps. Terry

Slugs? Get yourself a box of .45 long colt hollowpoints.

One of those over a BB load .410 shell will ruin just about anything's day.

The "Thunder Five" is a 5-shot revolver that takes both .45LC and .410 shotgun shells. Not the derringer you asked about but still a cool and awesome weapon. http://www.thunder5.com/docs1.html

Pretty sure I saw a 45-70 derringer some years
ago. Even the thought of squeezing one off from
something like that gives me the willies.
